Hi Help please Iv just bought a car that has been lying and not moved in 4.5 years. How do I empty the petrol tank. After 4.5 year do you think that fuel lines , pump and injectors will be gummed up. Stuck a battery on .It turns over but not start. whats the chances of the battery thats been in the car for ? charging up again

The Merc should have a drain bung - a big allen socket will be needed I'd think. However, depending on what conditions the car has been kept in, I'd be tempted to whack a new battery on it and crank it over! OK it won't pass any emissions tests but I dare say it'll fire and run. Maybe sling a gallon of fresh juice in there to freshen the fuel if it struggles.*Edit* just read your post properly...

If its got injection just run the feed pipe into a jerry can and bridge the fuel pump relay.

200 ce has big hose going to pump and filter arangement, no point briding relay as if water in there will kill the pump. pull of the hose and let it drain out. then connect back up and put a jerrycan worth in it. it'll run, they always do.
