looks rubbish don't keep them on, just looks silly and oversized. the rest of the car needs to be suitably mental to pull it off.
it'd be a shame to fudge up the handling on the is for the sake of fitting wheels

I'd say the pictures prove that it can be done...those tyres are pretty huge and a lower profile, narrower tyre would have that sorted. That said, it'd probably be more stretch than I'd want to run on a 'serious' car. If I could find some tyres cheap and someone willing to fit them I'd try it and see.

It's definately a step too far I reckon. The idea of stretching more on the back, on cheaper tyres terrifies me a bit. I don't like cheap tyres, full stop, and on a 'performance' car like this (not that fast I know, but I do give it some ) it's a no-no. As is dropping the front any further. It scrapes over speed bumps / into my driveway / into the barn as it is. Any more and it will be serious pain. And could fudge the handling, which is pretty damn cock-on on the old wheels. So it's back to the 17x7.5's for the time being. Nevertheless an interesting exercise. Nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that. I have a 'next best' solution which will now swing into action. All will be revealed in the fullness of time

i think your biggest problem is them being 17s on the rear. if it was 16s front and back with enormous girth i think you'd pull it off

the thing is, its worth the effort it takes to get them on, because this will take it from being a 'nice tidy bimz' to a OMFGWTF bimz
