I have a 1989 austin metro and its been running fine. a few days ago i ran out of fuel on the way to the garage and ever since it has just got a real bad lack of power and keeps cutting out. i have tried the obvious issues by replacing the fuel pump and filter. it ran well after this however yesterday it got really bad again and now struggles to go 40mph.
does anyone know of another fuel filter near the tank or something? really could do with the help.
cheers, Jordan.

have you cleaned the carb out? chances are if you ran out of fuel it may have sucked a bit of curse word into the carb.

As above.
Clean the carb out.
Doubt you have another filter, unless someone has fitted one.

rip the carb off, it's a VERY simple thing to play with, and you pretty much can't go wrong with it!
Hell, I've even reused gaskets, and they still work perfectly fine
