Racist! ;D (Don't worry, I'm not Japanese, I'm a filthy Scotsman, remember? ) That's a lovely car by the way, always had a soft spot for the Sapporo. My Dad had a mate with a turbocharged one (factory job I think) and it was seriously bloody rapid!

Again, obscure and sketchy car knowledge - Weren't these sold in Australasia under a different name, and with different (V8?) engines? Or was there a simliar looking saloon version, and I'm thinking of this...I'm casting my mind back into the depths here so could be wrong.. I think there was something along these lines in my "observer's book of cars" circa 1982!

it was sold with a 170bhp tubbied lump originally as well as the n/a that I've got. Not sure about the V8 although I do know that it was sold with a "Jet engine pack" in the States under the Plymouth name. Jet engine - I'll be having one of those then....

Plymouth Fire Arrow "MCA Jet" was the 2.6l rated at 108hp@5000 0-60 @9.6sec (and only a two barrel!) It's the one I'd like to sneak into an '85 Pony ;D

Hi, welcome from a fellow Sapporo owner, It's good to see another GSR on here and I'm glad you've got big plans for yours as well, if I can keep mine I'm hoping to drop a turbo motor in over winter and properly sort the suspension, if you haven't come across my car on here yet here's a few of photos for you.... im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b4d602b3127cceb555ca479f3b0000001610[/img]I've only had it on the road a couple of months so far and I'm loving all the double takes I get especialy with all four windows wound down, how about you? I bet most people don't have a clue what it is when they see you cruise past?

Your'e right there's not many early sapporos left now, I only know of a handfull of the first generations like ours, as they were only made with the chrome bumpers and quad headlights for two years (1979-80) then they swapped to one piece headlights with plastic bumpers and they also changed the roof to a more conventional flat design like these..... But then they bought the turbo version out in the second generation which was nice.... P.S I'm in Ipswich (east anglia) where abouts are you?
