My trip to C.A.R.S got me moist for some j-tin goodness, and due to having far too many cars at the mo i fancy going in a completely different direction with my B1800... I'm feeling a bright red slammed over some 14" spanky jdm alloys, what pcd's do they tend to come in? the hubs on it are 6x139.7 at the mo, so hopefully i'll be able to make some adaptors up to fit 4x100 ish... Anyone got any pics to inspire me? Muchos Grassy Ass.. Mike

this is the truck in question I think the dude who was selling that truck on ebay was the same guy I got my very first Datsun from. Bloke called Cruse ..I forget his first name (Gary maybe?)...lived down Southampton area. I think it was him or his brother who built that orange chopped pro street A35 van in the 80's. Some useless trivia for ya ;D Anyways, your best bet for some rims are some off a J import 4x4. They come up on ebay all the time and you get some wickedly deep dished ones, and of course they are J stylee already! Most seem to be 8x15 or thereabouts. Most of them are the same six stud as your Mazda. BTW, there was a pretty decent truck same as yours in the scrappy down at Tattershal. Dunno if it's still there but it was in half decent nick from what I remember. I've got some pics of it somewhere. -Ed

I was a big fan of this too whilst on ebay, just glad it went to a RRer. certainly big potential here.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Ed, It did indeed come from Gary Cruse, was it Roger Windleys? the scrappy at tattershall? the bed sides on mine are pretty poor, and the engine is shot, if you've got some pics that's be cool, any supply of bits for it would help loads Where in lincs are you? Cheers, Mike

Wow you did us proud by bagging it, looks like you are on the case. These trucks get my Juices flowing, look much older than they are.

Cheers, Mike Hehe, small world! Yeah the truck was at Windleys. I haven't been down to Windleys for a while so i might take a trip down soon and see if they have anything interesting in. Here's some pics of the truck that was (is?) in there... I'm near Louth so probably not far from you. I go into Grimsby pretty regularly and my missus works at the hospital there two days a week. I also building a J truck at the moment, a Datsun Sunny truck which is getting some JDM treatment, so you're welcome to pop round sometime and draw in some J tin inspiration if you want ;D -Ed

OOF! that's the baby. that would save me loads of bed cutting and welding and engine finding work! I'll be taking a trip down to Windlays on saturday then!! J-Tin Inspiration cuppa sounds like a plan pm me your number and addy if you fancy popping along on sat.... Mike i tried your wheel advice.. something like this might do nicely: 8x15 et+12, i'll have to get measuring to see if the offset will work! with 195 50's stretched over i reckon they'd look cool

You should be able to pick up some ex-Townace/Hilux wheels as RatDat said, chuck away the 4x4 tyres and stretch (not too much mind) some low-profile boots over them (although narrow non-lo-pro is more the J-way). Slap on a chin spoiler and some bolt-on arches and you'll be truckin' great!

They do seem to hold onto stuff for ages normally. I'll PM you my moby number. What time do you think you'll be there? I bought this set of SSR split rims off ebay last year for £100. 8x15 with a mad offset and, bizarrely, polished centers and anodised rims. Wish I still had them but I sold them on as the rears stuckout to far to clear the sliding door on my van -Ed
