Unfortunately the best picture I can find is of the incredibly garish Focus RS interior, but I love that line that sweeps across the dash and extends into the door card, above the window switch and handle: Triumph TR4A/5 front indicator and sidelights: Austin bonnet mascots. Even more so now that I know from that thread about things that are also things, that they're the bonnet release: The rear window shape and polished rear wing spat(?) on the Hillman Minx Californian is possibly my favourite little detail on any car ever: And the one I can't find a photo of anywhere : The MkIII Escort choke control lights up orange when in use. Or at least the one on my brother's old 1.3 van did. It was the best bit of the van....

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

I have two favourite details on the Rover P6 but cannot find decent close-up pics of either.
One is the light-up tips of the sidelights, that I always found strangely comforting when sitting in the passenger seat of my Mum's 2200SC. The other is the chrome corner at the top of the A-pillar, at the 'joint' of the windscreen, roof and door frame.

Our mk2 fiesta had the same choke pull. I remember that well. I can't find any decent images, but the dash warning lights in my Hillman Super Minx were dimmable on the indicators and main beam lamp by means of rotating the assembly up or down. For daytime use a bright bar lights up, nighttime use it just glows the color dimly. --Phil

Don't forget the front of the Alfa Romeo 159 J4. The aggressive front gives me chills going down my spine cause it's so freakin pretty:

it just has to be the iconic design king the Citreon DS(but r&R'd ) That running light at the top of the d pillar the interior, you'll notice none of the switches are labled the syslist didn't want the pure design to be spoilt with switch detail classic the rear........... the original turning front lights........... and then they made a convertible..............cool...........

Lancia Gamma Belina had one of these thought the rear view was the best, even the boot lid(most people thought it was a hatch : with the window under the luvers and another one in the boot so you could see out!

The rear half of the Lotus Europa, especially so in this colour scheme. The lights and end of the rear wings on this Ford Anglia are just perfect. The fantastically well designed and proportioned Mazda Carol, specifically the wrap around grille. Finally, the rear lights and the chrome trim on the rear wing of the 1961 Dodge Polara, a thing of great beauty.

I had one broken off mine years ago and it didn't feel right driving at night until I got a replacement.

fiat barchetta door handle You beat me to it! Such a lovely design. I also prefer the Barchetta interior colour treatment over the Coupe dash/door insert. I love the under dash panels and the scallops in the doors. While on the subject of Fiats, I've always LOVED the slash/cut arches of the Coupe. The way the line follows from the door, down through the top of the arch, defines the front bumper line then back up the other side....with the rear arches cut to suit. Awesome!
