the extra width is why the diesel type 9 has the long input shaft and the deeper B/H and why you need a 4 cyl box for the FWD flywheel. wonder if you could run a normal type 9 with a machined down/petrol/fwd flywheel? Thats what I said, FWD flywheel petrol type 9 (4cylinder one) no machining needed ? but the starter is in a differant place in the petrol B/H and not sure what fits, I have it all mocked up but not got any further with it, I will say that flywhhel makes the RWD pull better on the move but then in a loaded P100 weighing in at ni-on 2.5T you need all teh stored kinetic energy you can get, especialy towing as well, something to think about if towing ?

Hello i have swopped a diesel crank into my xflow block--so messed around with the sumps of both ---the s.african xflow is not diesel block --its straight xflow .You can bolt up either ones sump to the other ---BUT the end covers are unique to each engine as are sump gaskets --even the diesel all have several differant ones.I think your best way is to just chop the wings off and have the sump welded --easy enough as its a steel one ---all the others are alloy..Which is exactly why i used it on my hybrid to get the big wing and cut the base off to reshape and deepen for just over 5 l oil capacityTHe sieera diesel uses its own one piece gasket nothing like any xflow one.
