I've spotted this at Mallory Park twice this year, the owner is never around to ask questions but I'm guessing its running something fruity under the bonnet, judging by the badging and wide alloys. Can anyone shed light?

I should know this... wasn't in featured in Retro Cars years ago? Possibly a K-Series?

I have a feeling it's a TR7 engine.

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

That is cool . I don't think i've seen a running ital in ireland for over a decade. mind you they were never that popular here, it was mostly cortinas and escorts and a few datsuns an toyotas crept in after a while

I've had every issue of RC and it hasn't been in. That Flickr page says: ''Well well, the badging on this car is correct believe it or not... It is indeed a 16V and has overdrive..Rover 820 with distributor and Webers and MGB O/D box. And Sam's right, it has a Marina grille and lamps.'' Looks lovely, proper daily too, and tasteful period mods! Love it. Edit - dug out the pics from earlier this year.

It used to be a rover 820 engine with a fabricated distributer drive on the front and twin brake calipers on the front discs to slow it down. The owner was a little odd when I spoke to him, but quite chatty. I thought I had pictures of under the bonnet but I cant find them at the moment, I will update if i do.

My mate scrapped one of these after robbing bits for his Morris Minor. I had never really looked at one before, but I did find it odd how the rear bootlid was an after thought and didn't actually fit.

My Dad's second car was a bright yellow Ital estate, nowhere near as cool as this blue one though.

Seeing it chase down that Imp is fantastic. Loving that! I feel quite guilty now for only considering them as diff donors for when mine goes kaput.
Some sort of turbo dizzle lump and it'd be a great parts hauler... Dare I say it, it'd work as a pickup too. (Apart from the obvious issue of registering it.)
