Slam bonnet onto engine. Cut out where the dents are.
I seem to remember this being the method advised most frequently by our own Hardcore, though I may be mistaken ;D

Another vote for cutting out where clearence is required, then edging with that U shaped protection strip.

the one you highlighted is called a camaro z28 hood scoop/cowl Actually it's a Torana SL/R 5000 scoop, which I'm pretty sure were different to the Camaro ones. The scoop was a factory option on the Torana as shown, and they were used on the touring cars. www.ebay.com.au/itm/torana-slr-5000-bonnet-scoop-/130534056264

I guess the stealth way of doing it would be to use a 1Z exhaust manifold and an injection petrol inlet manifold. That would hang the turbo downwards, and the inlet would be at the side of the engine instead of over the top.
As for a bulge, how big does it need to be? something like the ones used on the rover 220s would be pretty subtle if it's big enough.

May just do this for now though.. I guess the stealth way of doing it would be to use a 1Z exhaust manifold and an injection petrol inlet manifold. Thought about the 220 bulge but too small. How about the scoop off the Kia Sedona? Spotted that today, will look into it. Either that, or a scooby scoop turned backwards!! ;D

I have an AAZ engined passat too and the turbo does nothing. Useless tiny thing Indeed. Being the 'Umwelt' model, I was under the impression that the turbo is there for a more complete/leaner combustion rather than power. I may be wrong though. All I know is that it is ickle and the car will happily sit at beyond 90 (private roads and all that) but take an approximate eternity to get there.
