Now I never ralised they did a flatlight model without the rear filler, but then it seems there are some equally weird variations on the Carinas of the time too which correspond with this. Looks like you lose the natty bonnet vent mouldings on the later one. hi some great pictures indeed, and yes they did do i flatlight ta22 celica with the filler cap between the lights as I have one its 1971 k reg I only know off 2 more in the uk alike. I just bought anouther ta22 a week ago its a 1973 m reg tax exempt but bubble lights its a very solid car. Personally i love the ra28 liftback and yes own 2 GT'S, they look like a mini mustang but better i guess. The ta23 is the coupe version of the ra28 same front but its a coupe i sold one 2 weeks ago in yellow it was anouther fine example I do have anouther one but in a very poor condition. After having all these celica's I have come to a stage where I want to import an ra25gt from japan so fingers crossed the ra25 wasent produced in uk at all its a liftback similar to the ra28 but based on the ta22, IF YOUR SEROUSE OF BUYING ONE LET ME KNOW AS I NO SOME GUY SELLING A GOOD SOLID TA22

Tell us more ra28gt!!! Whats the difference between an ra25 and 28 then? No problem theres not much difference in the too cars the ra28 rear lights have 4 cluster lights and the ra25 has 7 it also has a boot spoiler. the ra25 is same as the ta22 from the front its not pointed from the grill as the ra28 and ta23 or ra23. Ra25gt has wing mirrors on them and produces 140bhp as the ra28gt produces 130bhp. ra25 is based on the ta22 ra28 is based on the ra23 the ra23 celica is same as the ta23 but has a 2000cc engine and is auto similar there is a ta27 which is same shape as the ra25 but diffrernt engine. CONFUSING HEY

Such a sweet transformation from ugly duck. I know of another , it's my mates, he bought it a couple of years ago and then got skint so hasn't touched it since. Look mum no filler cap! There it is! This has the best 3d paint ever, it feels like sandpaper, I want him to sort the drivetrain and leave the body as it is

Sir Porno, that's not a flatlight, it's an angled light. Bloody nice all the same. I prefer the angled light variant myself.

I had always thought the difference was the indicators... shows how little I know about Toymota's!!! Care to expand for me so I can make less of an ass of myself? ;D

Hey I was "winging" it as well, I still don't know why the "Flatlight" is called that! Shape of the back lights - flatlights are the early ones like the pic immediately above (actually slightly concave by the look of it), later ones have a more bubbly shape.

No, nothing like it. ;D That's amazing. It's a pity that the plastic moulding isn't better as the kit is moulded in purple metalflake!! I need to get the magic chrome paint out to do the bumpers and mirrors, then loads of Bare Metal Foil for the details. I'm in paint prep mode having done the interior. Won't be long.
