After searching the net for a decent dislay case to show off my Hot Wheels, I came across this guys cases - www.ultimatedisplaycase.com/I think these cases are beautiful, but not enough to pay the prices he is asking. So the solution................... Make my own.   Its took me a couple of days and has been done to the exact dimesnions for a lot less than the inspirations cost. Its an oak frame with painted MDF dividers and will have a glass/perspex front that will side to the left (or right). This one is a 10x8 car model, so that I can have several cases on my wall. Will take some better pics when its loaded up and hung on my bedroom wall. PS Speed Racer car has been used just to confirm scale. I can make some more if anybody is interested in purchasing one |

So the solution................... Make my own. That is bloody excellent dubwarrior2! Great work by you That's the sort of thing I had in my head, but I just wasn't 100% sure how it would come together and look. But it looks awesome. And like you said you can have a few units. |

What you have there my friend is a 1968 Hong Kong made VW custom that was made for the European market only and is as rare as poor quality wobbly children's play pony Sh*@ with hens teeth in it!
I would say it would be worth quite a lot to an american collector,good work!

I used to use Ramseys Diecast guide when I was doing toy fairs but since the arrival of Ebay fairs and swapmeets are pretty useless for obsolete diecast stuff hence making it redundant.Mind you ebays completed listings are quite a good gauge for values on there own.

I'm a big hotwheels collector. Couple of pics of what is coming for you j tin fans..[glow=red,2,300][/glow]  We (well, I) picked one of these up on a long card in Asda, Southport this weekend. The front wheels rub on the rear of the arches, so a bit of fettling might be required to release the full speed potential! Got to admit, my son is prefering a lot of the Matchbox stuff at the moment. He bought the SWAT truck so that he could arrest me speeding in my Skyline. |

Great skills on the repainting retrolegends! That R4 van is so cool How do you get the sign writing on there? Are they just stickers? I spend a couple of hours last night pulling my collection out of their boxes and tissues to get some pictures of them. I even found a few that I forgot that I had, and some I don't even remember buying. But it was a nice stroll down memory lane. posted lots of great pics Wow, I think I've got at least one in every shot you put up there. Some that spring to mind as favs of old are the black lambo, the white quaser and the little truck in red with the trailer. I've really got to go to mums and dig mine out, at least get pictures before they go into my loft (once its done) |
