Thought i'd go out for a nice drive around the countryside today as it was a gorgeous day and it's the start of my week off work. ;D Armed with my cheap digicam i headed towards Doncaster, the first retro i cam across was this cracking chrome bumper MGBGT This MG is for sale, with a full MoT £3000 ono, i have contact details if anyone's interested. After the MG i headed towards Thorne after hearing rumours some time ago of a yard full of old cars. After around 10 minutes i found the place. I knocked on the door and asked the gentleman if it was ok to take some photos, he wasnt very enthusiastic, but said i could take a few of the cars near the gate. Old Datsun Coupe Zastava 311 Mk1 Astra Rover 200 series Modern Retros Datsun Bluebird 1.8GL Cavalier Renault 16 Moskvich Estate (1 of 3 in undergrowth) Simca This yard has over 100 classics decaying, dating from 1938 Morris 8 to the G plate Renault 25, all are for sale but at the prices he wants i don't think any will be going anywhere. He wanted £650 for a rotten Wartburg More pics to follow.

Such as shame that Mazda is so rusty! Lots of great parts on it for someone but who has one? The Allegro and Marina look way to clean to be in a breakers. Do they sell cars complete?

Great finds! Shame about the cars on the private land. A total waste, just because the owner has an inflated idea of its worth. Surely its worth passing them on to people who can make use of the parts.
That Simca is incredible. To say they have a rust problem is an understatement. A friend of mine had a mint one when we both passed our tests years ago, the car was legal for 3 years before it became unsafe to drive!

Balby sell cars complete. Good bunch of lads there. Me and two mates Martin and Steve stopped by there one day for a nose round and saw a Victor which Steve used to own, sold to me I ran as a daily for 2 years and then sold to Martin, he'd sold it to a local lad who'd driven it less than 2 months, had an MOT fail on the steering rack and scrapped it. Heres a photo from when I owned it Anyway it had only been driven in that morning so after a quick haggle Martin drove it home again for £225. He'd sold it to the lad for like £400 (it had suffered a bit since I sold it) and when he opened the boot there was a brand new rack in there! Bonus.

That Singer Vogue was owned by an elderly chap who kept the mechanicals in good order but couldnt do the bodywork. The body does need tidying but it is taxed and tested, drive away £550 i think they said.
The Austin 3 litre is very clean but didnt ask price on that

I like that Toyota estate! It looks like a sort of high-roof effort, would be a quality candidate for a krazy J look with stretched tyres and bottomed-out 'suspension' plus 'sporty philistine riverbank love boy here!!!' J text graphics.
Also I would LOVE to attack that mazda with my grinder and mig set.

IIRC the tax on that Maestro ran out 07 2000 and the front end was shot, judging by the prices the old bloke was telling me he'd have probably sold the front end for £10, but with a couple of extra noughts, and i don't mean £10.00. He said he would sell all 100+ cars in his yard for £35,000

do they still have the banger racing '59 Pontiac Star Chief in the yard? That was a bit of a star attraction there for a while. It was a really solid car, they got it cos it was CDO due to insurance fraud by its previous owner, and it reputedly destroyed everything it came in contact with each time it was raced. Was running a 430 Buick - hot motor - I think out of a '68 Riviera which also got bangered. must have been a hell of a drive.

^ Why oh why are there these fantasists about that have loads of vehicles stuck in their overgrown back garden just rusting away to nothing, yet if anybody wants to buy one for spares or to save the ‘nut-tAh’ who owns them has some inflated price as to what it’s worth. I know it’s a ‘free’ country (we hope!) and people can ask what they like but as we all know no one ends up buying the vehicles due to this and they rust away to nothing/become totally unsalvageable/lost forever and thus nobody benefits. On the outskirts of my town there is a chap who has a garden full of rusty ‘classic’s and people have become convinced he gets a sense of pleasure from folk asking if such and such etc. is for sale. Bonkers !
