From Above I'd Say That's Glacier Blue Rather Than Caspian Blue But That Could Be The Picture Playing Tricks

That is Caspian Blue, As said there are loads of shades, and if the car has never been painted then its faded, with metalics you should blend to match and laquer out as i do, this costs more but you get what you pay for really, always a risk going edge to edge.

Can't you just get it sprayed "base model grey" instead?

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

As said there are up to 10 shades of each ford colour depending on the batch, the shade code is uaually after the colour code but not on older cars on them you don't get the shade, then add to that you will never and I meen never get old paint to match the new paint even with the code and you're left with a matching service, these range from a simple swatch to match what you have up to £35 for a spectrum scan on a computor to match it, any decent car spares will have swatches as wiill any paint supplys. I've just had to spray an 8 year old Mondeo and the origional paint code and shade was way off so had to spray the whole side to fade the new into old just for one door (i'm talking bumper to bumper just for the drivers door), this is why i avoid body work like the plauge (unless it goes on on a roller and is matt) ;D
