You'd be far better off making the chin spoiler up from polycarbonate (or other) plastic sheet wouldn't you? Will then bend & pop-back rather than denting. Golf ones are to fit on the bottom of a rather rounded chin aren't they?, where the Civic already has a flat lower edge & undersurface that you could attach a spoiler to the bottom of. Certainly my '79 Accord had a tiny, basic 1.5" spoiler underneath from the factory (must get around to making a bigger one). Classic idea is to cut the bottom few inches from a scrap modern plastic bumper & attach that upside-down under the car.

Classic idea is to cut the bottom few inches from a scrap modern plastic bumper & attach that upside-down under the car. Thats what i'm thinking, or make a single sheet from metal but leave four tabs on the top that can be bent into brackets, and then box only the two sides/ends (left and right) to make the spoiler appear to have an underside. I'd coat it in small crickle finish matt bacl paint to emulate the rubber and to make the paint stronger against stones etc. there's a very small vertical lip at the botton of the original panel, which is just below the crease - i planned to mount it just above the crease so that the spoiler would cover over the vertical lip. the spoiler is planned to be 3 inches or so. You can see the small lip at the bottom on this image from when the engine bay was repainted, along with the rad and other bits and bobs - and on this one too, with some 7" Yellow lamp lenses I got for £2 from a market somewhere ages ago..

Are those yellow lenses legal? My Civic's got 7" sealed beams like all the old BMC stuff had. Has yours got replaceable bulb lights?

Not a clue, I mean people colour their lenses with film so it's sort of the same - I never planned to run with them really, just a quirky accessory

thats real nice, loving the steels. I'm thinking maybe 13" rims, such as minilite copies or some splits to get an idea of what 13" wheels would look like, i decided to fit my 8x13" minilites. they are 101.6pcd, as the civic is 4x100, so they wouldnt be ideal to use, clearly. but these pics give the idea of 13" rather than 15"... I'm debating whether to go for 14 or 13" minilites or autostars. Just got a 1981 Honda civic and I have been debating since days which wheels to go for. I don't want to impact the drivability too much. I was looking at a 14" autostars which are 9" wide. I'm wondering if those would impact the steering radius, and potentially touch the arches
