What about an 80's Audi 100 with a 1.9 TDI from a B4 80 in it? Very low drag an 60 mpg? if you can find 1 of these with the orig diesel 5 pot they give 50 plus mpg, ive had a few and there like driveing an armchair long distance, comffy, economical n retro style or.............. find a quartto estate diesel model disconnect front shafts( bolt ons) n fitt the whole lot in the Z, should fit nicely with a few small mods to engine mounts n propshaft imo

I've just got home from picking up a 1.6td lump for the Scirocco, so hopefully it won't be long before it finds its way into the engine bay.
