OK so after a few months of lurking I tought I'd say hello and show you my ride, I'm sorry if this is too "new" and "normal" but it's all mine and I love it to bits
I'll let the pictures do the talikin.
the day I bought it, knacked OEM 15" alloys and very much in need of a good clean.
the standard Bose stereo was good but a tape player?..had to go
when I checked the boot I realised there was no spare, so off to the scrappy and came back with.....
A Civic coupe spoiler, roughly measured with a window rubber.
a vast improvement if I do say so myself.
VERY DAUNTING DRILLING 5 HOLES IN A PERFECTLY GOOD BODY PANEL!
next up was Wheels the 15" s were trashed so after a new cambelt, service and eggsauce, I heard of some "sport" Montegi alloys going budgie, they were in Norwich!..(I live in Bolton) ROAD TRIP!!.
reasonable condition but needed a refurb, I worked as a sprayer for a while so a few rattle cans later they looked ok.
sanded and primed.
the caps got the same treatment
and the finished product, I wanted a flat finidh so no Lacquer just plenty of light coats of satin silver acrylic
now the car was starting to look like someone owned it.
on a rainy day I took the car to a carwash, seems they applied neat ACID to my fresh paint, it ruined them so a rub down and a colour change.
being a family man on a VERY tight budget I looked for things to do I could do at home on the drive, I had heard on many Honda Forums people were cracking open the headlights to colour code them, So , I gave it a go with some spare headlights someone "lent" to me.
imagine the wifes face seeing what I was cooking.
light split open
chrome thingy out
Nail polidh remover brought the chrome off leaving a satin black finish
back together and resealed
now to fit, we all know how well Honda's are put together.
had to remove the full front end of the car!!
out with the old, while I was there the Resonater just "fell" out!
and all back together, the lenses did need a polish though.
got one of these off Fleabay for a FIVER
so into the drill, bit of t-cut and got a good result.
I am fairly happy with the look of the car now,
and before anyone says it............I KNOW IT NEEDS LOWERING!!!
thanks for looking, sorry if it's not "Retro enough"
Leon
