heres is my breadvans story: ive had it for a few months so thisll be a bit long lol but here goes ....
was looking to get another mk2 as I owned a loon as my first car 4 years ago and 11 cars later including a mk1 golf and a few 6n polos I still missed the mk2 so I went on the hunt and tracked this 90 miles away in southampton so I got my dad to take me down there on his motorbike and 3 hrs later I had it home
for the sum of £350 I got it with t+t and nothing wrong with it
heres my original loon for people interested
and yes i did all them 62 square myself took 3-4 hours but i loved it lol (the car started out silver and pretty ratty)
and my full nut and bolt mk1 golf restoration
but....
here my new mk2 be looking sorry for itself at sellers house
90 miles didnt skip a beat even slipped in with a little convoy of cars going into fleet services lol
first job was to get it a bit lower but lack of funds led me to just buying a mk1 golf gti splitter
also same day I picked up some mk2 scirocco mirrors and fitted them:
then I was fed up of it looking so tired so wanted to get the bumpers back to black so out with the boiled lynseed oil
and some red 3m tape just to tidy it up
but I soon wanted the quad grille like I had on my old one
but I liked the red detail so I found a quad red stripe after a few weeks looking
at the same time I also found an eyebrow so that got bought too lol sprayed to match and here it is fitted
then after joining here for a while I decided I wanted to take the retro one step further and bought some laminx for the headlights
then one with my mates gt bready
then just as I'm gonna start spending money on it properly ie wheels exhaust etc I found an ultra rare taifun grille setup from germany (rumoured to be one of two in the uk) for £160 and I just loved it so a short up to merstham and I'm over the f'ing moon
now to start on the small thing that I don't have pictures of as there pretty insignificant but make every day living with it easier :
fixed and rehung the glovebox
sourced a centre colsole
and a good hoover (carpet out and vaxed)
and polish
and today I received my custom dno stickers from ruffgeezer
yellow spot fogs from tricky
and a set of 12v air horns off swd.com
ill keep this updated when I get more pics soon
rest of my plans are generally down n out with my own styling touches
