Following a suggestion by MinDan and Lawsy, I've put together a Google Map - similar to the Retro Rides Members Map - which can be used to show the location of forthcoming events and regular meets. The Retro Rides Events Map can be found here. I've already added a couple of Events and Meets from this forum to give examples of what information to include. The map is editable by anyone with a Google account. You don't need a Google Mail e-mail address, you can set up a Google account using your own existing e-mail address. Once signed in, you can locate your meet/event, stick a 'push pin' into the map, and enter all the relevant location. Save the info, and the new push pin will be available to view by anyone seeing the map. If it's a 'one-off' event [not a regular monthly meet], it would be useful if you could delete the push pin once the event has passed, to save the map from becoming too cluttered. By clicking the "Save To My Places" above the map info on the left-hand column, you can link back to the map from your Google account at anytime, without having to find the link here. This should be a useful tool for anyone wanting to know about meets or events in their local area, or just interested to see how far away an upcoming show is.

Nice job dude - looks cool If anyone wishing to add an event to the map could roughly follow VIP's format that'd be most splendid

Cool idea, should be nice for checking out what's fairly local.
How do I stick a pin in it? I'm signed into my google account, but I can't work out how to actually put the pin in the map :S

I'm signed into my google account, but I can't work out how to actually put the pin in the map :S Firstly, click the Edit button at the top of the left-hand column. It should be just above and to the right of the map title. When you've clicked Edit, three little icons should appear in the map itself, at the top left next to the map navigation tools. The centre one is a push pin. Click it to highlight, and your cursor should turn into a pushpin. Click the location to drop it, and then fill in the details. If you can make any web links clickable, that would be great.

Just an addendum, RR meets and events are marked with BLUE push pins, non-RR events are in RED push pins.

Lee, can you edit your push pin to include the meeting dates/days in the title and body of the text. Thanks!

Hi VIP, I'm grateful you've included the Motornutz chippy meet on the map but is there any chance you could please remove the "CRUISE" bit from the title, as we had trouble with chavs at the last meet and the word cruise seems to attract them like flies to curse word. I'd do it myself mate but i can't edit that post. Would really appreciate it. TA

Cheers Greg Almost, what you actually did is overtype the Title and Description of the entire map with your event, then stick a placemark in the map. You need to place the placemark first, and then edit the information in the placemark box that pops up about your event.
