liking the grille.... almost as cool as one of those original 80's uber-rare lift-up ones! Indicators in the place of sidelamps i take it?
I know it's deeply sad to notice such a thing but is the LHD wiper thing a common Mk2 feature? My G plater had regular RHD ones.

Ooh, love that front grille. Seeing as my gf has just crunched her Mk2 GTi, it might be an excuse to try something like that! Does the 16v lower spoiler just go straight on, or does it have to be modified?

Well just been to the local scrap yard and what did I find. A 16v lower spoiler not a mark on it, and all for the bargin price of £3, also robbed the grill for £3 too. Excellent lets see what i can make up.

BGTMidget - which scrappy do you use? All the ones I've found round here are insanely priced and just have fields full of Mondeos and Astras.

Pillock. A mate of mine had an early mk2 golf, D plate i think, and his had lhd wipers. I think the early ones were lhd shells converted to rhd rather than complete rhd shells.
Btw, how does the law stand with that grill. I fancied doing something like that with my cortina but just assumed it was illegal.

and wasnt gladys a 57 ford fairlane? To us old 'uns Gladys will always be an onange '57 Ford. Was Martin Ayres the owner's name. I remember that car at the Lakeside Cruise years ago...he'd just juiced the front end, it was the first car I'd seen in the flesh with hydraulics!
