I bought a Saab 9000 earlier in the year for well under a grand with full main dealer service history and one owner from new. It's immaculate. Not like it was a one off - the same day I looked at a Volvo 740GLE in pretty much the same condition for £695. Think that sold for £400 in the end. I didn't spend a lot of time looking either.
It is certainly true that some people have a very odd idea of what 'immaculate' and 'perfect' actually are. I saw a Range Rover at the weekend which was absolutely shocking in pretty much every way.

It works the other way too though. The Fiesta I have up for sale at the moment really is a cracking little motor, with a long ticket and plenty of rent. But despite an ad on Gumtree, Preloved, the Fiesta Club forum and on here, I've had ONE call about it and that was from an ad I'd stuck in the window of the car! A car I thought people would be falling over themselves for, and (almost) nothing.

I normally find the best cars are advertised in shop windows and local papers, and you don't mind paying that little bit more for it because you're not spending £50+ travelling for a day. things like ebay make the cheap car market harder and more expensive i find

Well he's just driven off into the sunset in my astra If my memory serves me correctly, it was raining when I left your house! Thank you very much for selling an honest car. I've got exactly what I expected, for a reasonable price. This is what your Astra looks like after it had a good wash! Blimey didn't look that good even when i bought it. We have now got what the mrs wanted Just needs the new gearbox fitting and an MOT now.
