ooh, I've also got every 80s Performance car, loads of Fast Lane too...
Blimey ;D
I never read Auto Express! What Car? Was a bit too consumer-product orientated (boot loading heights, towing weights etc) for me as it was...

Beetle dash is inspired. Car as a whole is really quite cool, but the look is ruined by that half-arsed roof rack and them goddamned crystal rear clusters.
Good find though.

I would also like to labour this tiresome joke by pointing out that all my dog modifications are carried out by myself in my 12' x 6' garage at home, no 'chequebook dog builds' going on here. The man Bo11ox cracks me up! ;D

a s*itload of dog magazines I stopped buying them after a while due to them being full of the same repetitive old flat-cap 'traditional' dog brands, as my interests lie more towards the areas of new up-and-coming dogs from europe and futher afield, and of course the global 'modified dog' scene. Indeed I am a keen dog modifier myself and will continue to be one till the powers-that-be outlaw this harmless hobby. I just spat my tea out. I can't stop smiling and gurning and now i'm, gonna get in truble for surfing at work curse word curse word curse word.... i like the wheels, dash is cheeky but cool, rear lamps are weak, should've used heart lamps..

I am generally liking that a WHOLE lot!
Agreed about the rear lenses though, they let it down. Love the helphos spotlight and the dash is, indeed, a masterpiece. Very creative thinking, as was the first TT dash conversion I would imagine.
I don't think I will ever tire of the whole retro-dub thing... especially the air-watercooled cross-overs like this. Anyone see the grey Mk 1 in the latest PVW on those mad Iron Cross rims? Ace! (They were based on the prototype Rader wheel... aircooled bods will know what I am on about...).

i quite like it. not sure why you would want to put a bug dash in, but it looks well done. the whole thing looks good though.
on the mag front i tend to buy Retro Cars and subscribe to Practical Classics. I also have Auto Express from about 99/00 - 03ish. The best mag for new cars imo

I appreciate this as a fine piece of artwork very well done but it's not for me. The Golf Mk1 dash is one of the nicer '70s layouts I have driven, and for me it's as much part of the whole '70s Wolfsburg experience as the rest of the car. Would you be applauding a split rear screen Beetle with a Golf Mk1 dash grafted in? Didnt think so.

"I was born too late to a world that doesn't care Oh...I wish I was a punkrocker with flowers in my..haiirrrr..." Sorry it just hit me. woah. Maybe if the modest golf had come in earlier and taken a few of the beetles cues it could of looked a bit like that. i want to not like it but it works so well. Verdict, very well done, but i'd of held back on the dash!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts
