My dad had an S plate 1900 GLS Coupe one of these many moons ago. It was exactly the same colour too. Went on to buy a Manta GTE Hatch in '86 which I bought off him in '91. Loved and had a few Manta's since, great cars. Yours looks to be a superb example. How do you find the 1600 engine? Personally I never found the GTE's to be much of a performer.

My dad had one too, don't know what trim but it was a 1600. He loved it but swapped it for a 1600 Sierra for some reason....

The Gt/e had the 2.0 version of this Cam In Head engine, I find it a little flat, But this is a generation before any car I have previously owned, Ecotec on its way!!

Yeah I know they're all CIH engines, not the best units ever. Very heavy and don't really breathe/rev that well. So you're going Ecotec then eh? Nice, look forward to seeing the progress.

Saw this in Halford's car park on Saturday.
It looked proper tidy! Thought it would belong to someone on here :-)
