Just returned from a week in the sun ;D Very different to how I remember it 15 years ago,nowhere near as many old cars about but still not dissapointed. Apologies for the shonky nature of some of the pics. Some were spotted from the top of an open top tour bus/boat where I was hanging on for dear life trying not to drop the camera and some were spotted whilst intoxicated sat out front of restaurants or on the way back to hotel. Great spots there! I've heard from friends who live out there that the busses are all going to be scrapped this year, to be replaced by chinese built busses run by Arriva!and the VRT (mot) test has suddenly got very strict, you now have to take your car for the test rather than waving some euros under the testers nose  , so I wonder how long Malta will be a tat-haven... this is a Isuzu KB/bedford KB/Chevy LUV: |

Great snaps Pete! I remember seeing a lot of mk 1 escorts there about 20 years ago, although judging by the amount of Maltese imports on eBay most weeks, I guess uk is where they will end their days. That's really sad to hear that the buses are going next year. I seriously hope they aren't scrapped - that is part of the island experience - riding around in one of the amazing buses. I remember the owners would kit the insides out a bit like a living room!

We saw all the new bendy buses lined up on the harbour,apparently they are too long to work efficiently round the city? or so we were told on the cruise.
It will be a shame to get rid of the original ones,we had a cracker of a ride from sliema to buggiba on one,the driver was pulling away before anyone had paid him so everyone was falling about then he just stopped randomly in the middle of a street and got out to get a slice of pizza and a bottle of coke from a cafe!
Got no idea how much cars are out there,i saw one subaru sumo bus for 1500 euro from a dealers,very clean but it wasnt quite what i was after so i left it.

some beauties in there , they like thier fiat 500's, the white mk1 capri looks to be an early 4cyl by its flat bonnet & they've a rare XJS lynx eventer too!
