Went to get the missus BMW e30 out of winter hideaway bonnet release is not working. don't know if this is a snapped cable or its just stiffened up over winter. So question is how do i undo the bonnet ? Regards Steve

Near the passenger head light theres a hole in the front pannel you poke a screw driver through, been a while since I did it but it somewhere round there, through the grill possably ? stick it in and twist, mind the bonnet will fly forward right were your nose is !!

or if you can get the grille out, you can get to the two 10mm bolts that hold the catch on. you can take these out and get the bonnet open with the catch still attached.

Rang me mate who has an E30, to the left of the inner passenger headligh, poke in screw driver (flat headed) and twist to release the catch, driver needs to be at least 6 inches long to do it with the grill in place

Worked first time, despite the warnings nearly got a face full of bonnet.
Looks like the mech was a bit stiff, now cured it.
