i was lucky as the 2.8 capri billies on the mk1 are obviously inserts so was a doddle to do - couple of hours work.
i'm fairly certain i got my kit from burtons though it may have been rally design.... i'm going back a good 5-6 years ago now at least!!

I'm pretty sure my Mk3 polo uses inserts, and as coilover kits are silly money for these (the hub carrier is part of the strut), this will be the direction i will probably be going in.
I've been told that the rears do not need welding? Does the insert cap hold it in place?

I'm not sure about the conversion kit rears, but I'm pretty sure that you can get rear coilovers for mk1/2/3 polos cheep, I'm sure they're shared with one of the golfs.

No worries, I'm pretty sure Phil J over on Club-Polo used to sell the rears separately, and may well still do, he has an account on here but I don't think I've seen him on here in a while.
