Excellent event. Brilliant weekend. Will post pics and vids tomorrow. Great to put faces to names/User ID`s/ Cars etc. Shame I never got chance to talk to more but I am rather shy (common syndrome it would appear). I hope to meet more of you in the future. Enjoyable convoy down with TCC, Mrsigma & Mrs, Silvermachine and Mrs, Reanimation and Mrs, BGTMidget &Mrs and Street (Tardy ). Some excellent cars there and a lot of inspiration. One more reason to love the monza, it was a 500 mile round trip and it averaged 30.6mpg going down and 33.7mpg coming back, that was mainly kicking around the 70mph mark with the occasional blast to three figure speeds ;D . Great fun and heres looking forward to the Retro-Rides show 2007 ;D

Sounds like you chaps had a great weekend, and looking at the pics so far I think I'd have to agree!!!! Some totally gorgeous cars out there! Do you know what date it is next year? And is it worth making a trip over for, my partner is currently living in London so I could "coincidentally" make a trip over to see her when the next show is happening

Sounds like I missed the show to be at this year! curse word! I shall have to make sure I get there next year. I would have even turned up in the ratlook (shitbox) Sierra Saph. Sadly I didn't have the money and the missus and daughter both suffer in the hot sun and wouldn't have enjoyed it. I would love to go next year and camp the night but the missus won't let me out that long. Also, my old VW Camper is sh@gged so it'd have to be a tent. What I need is for the missus to learn to drive, then she can drive the old Camper to the show (assuming we win the lottery aswell to pay for it's restoration) and I can drive the Cortina (or whatever I have then, prehaps a Scimitar or dolly sprint) and have both my cool retro rides there. Oh, and my brother can drive the mk3 Escort. Back to reality, looking forward to seeing some pics and hopefully meeting you lot at next years event.

And an apology to the team working on the yellow Dolomite - when you went off to the strip, you left some of your toolkit under my car and I kinda ran over it..... no damage except to the box of hand wipes!

Thanks guys. We had an excellent weekend. Just a shame it was all over so soon I know i managed to speak to a few new people but i know theres a lot of people i missed too. The main problem i have is that i'm curse word remembering peoples faces so i forget who i've introduced myself too, then i get paranoid about introducing myself to someone twice incase they think i'm curse word at remembering people, which i am. But anyway... Big thanks to hotwire for organising the whole thing, hats are well and truely off to you sir. And i'm gutted i missed the 3pm speach too, might have given me a better idea of who was one of us and who was joe public. Anyway, the merc made it back at a nice steady 60, slow and steady wins the race eh? It was good to meet eveyone i did get to speak to, Dom, Locoster, Richardjn, Reanimation, PheonixC and everyone else. Lets not leave it 12 months till next time eh? Cant think of anything more to say so i'm off to dreanm about all the work i'm gonna do to the escort and cortina now i've got a nice big dose of inspiration. Oh yeah, and big thanks to everyone for making it happen ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Roll on CaRs 2007 I say. Maybe we should have an informal RR car bash inbetween to break up the year long wait. I thoroughly loved this weekend, though I did manage to burn sections of my chest and back and got home feeling very grotty but the Mini drove there, back and inbetween without a hitch Again I'm shy so I probably scuttled around people, I would've liked to have said hi to everyone. Didn't feel that the classics addition to the show had much of an impact, biggest change in my mind was the autotesting which was great to watch and hopefully it'll be a regular feature so in ooh 5 years I'll maybe have a go, perhaps. I took loads of pics, post them tomorrow, bought a wing for the clubby (thanks Daveyboy!) and had a great time. I felt that at the speech a bouquet or some manly alternative should've been presented to Hotwire- big thanks for all the organising, muchly appreciated.

I 'raced' to use the term loosely, a Mk2 Golf, tried my hardest to keep up but couldn't unsuprisingly lol. Did you get some filmage reanimation? Or like me were you struggling to stay awake in the heat?

Hi, It was just awesome, really good mix of cars with a great attitude about it all. Rayo from the lordz lowriders was blown away by the shere mix of cars and agreed with me about it being one of the coolest shows .Sorry i didn't get to talk to many of you as my mates just wanted to stay in the cowshed as it was out of the sun. I agree it should be a two day event and I'll try to get the nova drag car there next year.
