KWKmanta, that item now appears to have been pulled from the website too. I'm certainly not spending 95 quid though. I guess I'll be going for a more ghetto method.
Colon, Yeah, they did, but there are none/next to none in the UK. Fairly common in france though.
Cheers again to everyone for your input

Ben..... did volvo ever do a 240 diesel? Find a set of clocks from one and transfer the rev counter? What's the redline on your lump too? Yes they did, I've even been in one in Finland, but it had no rev counter, (i don't know if a 240 diesel ever had a rev counter actually) with a version of VWs straight 6 diesel called the D24 by volvo then they did a turbo version for the 740 and 940 called D24T. The 740 and 940 had rev counters in some of the diesel ones anyway. As for the RPMs on that iveco engine probably not much over 4k to 4.5k i guess... it's diesel and from a van after all

Hi, I know this is an old thread, but I need some help if you can. I have a 2004 Trooper(was 3.0ltr diesel) that has had the older 3.1ltr diesel engine installed, so now the rev counter will not work. I clicked on your link for Dakota digital and the item that came up they say doesn't work for my application. Do you happen to have a catalogue number so I can go back to the please. Very much appreciated if you can help.

I've used the Dakota Digital diesel tach box for the past 8 years on my vitara (VW TD swap). I can't see why it wouldn't work.
If your alt doesn't have the W terminal (mine didn't) you can add one with a bit of soldering. Then it's just a wire splice into the tach, and adjust.
