Ok just debating this with some mates, post up yours with some highlight pics! I think it's a combination of being highly evocative of an era or a country along with some film or music reference, mix that up with some celeb endorsements and you have an Icon! Cars that everyone knows and loves What makes an icon for you? 1. 65-68 Ford Mustang 2. Jaguar E type 3. Porsche 911 4. Mini 5. Delorean 6. VW Beetle 7. Citroen 2CV 8. Aston Martin DB5 9. Land Rover Series 10. Ford Model T

Alastair has already the Corvette added... "you mean the one out of Magnum?" An icon in a slightly different culture to RR, but an icon nonetheless...

Surely the Trabant 601 is iconic as any car, a symbol of communism, the cold war and austerity.

Sierra - here we go again! He has an illness, it's not his fault.

Budget family motoring. Icons of practicality and affordability over style during periods of austerity. Skoda Estelle (perhaps not this exact model, of course) Lada Riva Austin Mini (okay, so this is the Cooper, but you know the one I mean). Austin Allegro Datsun 120Y

Some great choices here, many were on my list of 20 odd i edited to 10 especially the Moggy minor Skoda Estelle, Trabant and Sierra cossie.. Some i would never have considered like the FX4 taxi and Fiat 500 but they are soooo iconic.. I'm gonna have to add these two beuts.. Ford F-150 (i think a 54 but any ill do) The checker cab..
