My long, long search for a Capri is over ;D Been looking for a Capri for a while - everything I've looked at so far had been needing a ton of work or was so expensive it was out of the question. I looked at one a couple of months ago which the owner put in storage a few years ago. He had it up for sale but it was expensive and at the time he wouldn't budge on price. I offered what I thought it was worth and today, 2 months after I looked at the car, I've done the deal. Photo's tomorrow when I pick it up...........

Looks like a nice honest car apart from the lovely seat covers lol. Are the Recaros ruined?

Kerry !!!!!!
Which of your children or family members did you have to sell ?
Spoke about you on Tuesday to Nicola when I was making a gate post from the one section of scaffolding pole you gave me a few years ago.
Nice car by the way.

Nice, i think its the time to buy a 2.8, the prices are going up fast.
I think you made a good choice looks a nice car, only thing id prefer is the blue cheque pattern cloth on the early 2.8.

The plan is that it will look like this eventually.......... I'm planning to change the wheels from the standard 13" pepperpots to the 7 spoke 15" ones used on the roll out 280 models - 2 reasons: I think bigger wheels fill the arches better and it's much easier to get decent 15" tyres than it is trying to source 205/60 x 13's. Anyone know the standard tyre size for 15" 280 alloys?

I think it was 195/50 but whenever I've heard the question before there seems to be a divide between that and 205/50s
Looks like a tidy example!

I doubt they would be narrower than the 205s on 13s though. 195s are the cheaper option though. 205's on the back, 195's on the front maybe?

205's were on the 13's all round. I think it was the same on the 15's as well.

Ah right yes 13" wheels (of the 7 wide variety) had 205s but for the 15" brookie wheels some people say 205/50 some say 195/50 and both seem to have evidence from brochures and things so my guess is Ford mixed it up occasionally? This says 195/50 www.fordcapri.co.uk/mk3/specials/capri280spec.htm
