2.8 manual all the way, had a few shoguns and worked on tons, the 2.8 give less trouble drive better and last longer inho...
A swb manual 2.8 is actually quite fun, the 3000 petrol LWB autos feel gutless and are forever giving trouble, i hide when they come in for repair..

Thanks guys. In the IS200, I can get a combined of roughly 32mpg, which isn't bad seeing as the factory figure is mid 20's. But as I'm starting the business I'm going to need something to lug stuff around to fairs and stuff. But something comfy, wafty and on the chipppy oil would be cool.

TBH I wouldn't call them wafty or comfy either. Agricultural and harsh might be closer to the mark!

2.5s are slow, theres no 2 ways abowt it, i had a swb 2.5 for abowt 8 months and bar the aircon pump seizing it behaved itself pretty much bob on, ive drove a 2.8 and it felt abit better, but they're no race machine, and the are wafty and cumfy compared 2 a disco of similar age!

The ride quality of my 2.5TD LWB is leagues ahead of my Defender! And compared to the rest of my fleet mostly made up of lowered BMWs it really is quite comfy.

I've had a Rangie Classic and a stiffened Celica GT4, and slammed Favorit with buckets and rally coil overs, so I've done hard and soft.
And what with petrol stupid, I've gotten to quite like sitting in lane one drafting the wagons. Maybe a Bighorn or Turbo version of the Musso is the way to go then.
