;D for full details see Readers ride, 1983 Caravelle post. After a day yesterday collecting parts, tools and Merc bits, I set about attacking the Van again today.. She fought well, but I'm winning, I think.... I'd have likes to have got the engine mounted today, but I need to fire the grinder up, and its a little late for that, so I'll crack on with it after work tommorow.. I thought I was having a bad day of it, until I popped in to see my mate Steve Kiddel ,with a rather tasty 240Z... he's managed to break that in a rather special fashion, tearing the anti roll bar from the chassis leg at the front , he's also managed to damage his engine in a major fashion (bent crank kinda thing so he thinks ).. Not one to waste time, he was already assembling a new engine when I got there.... Kinda makes me feel I'm "taking my time" on my one...

Kinda makes me feel I'm "taking my time" on my one... I know what you mean, I go out to work on a car and it takes at least twice as long to do something than I thought it would, then it will start raining or I get distracted and start trying to fix something else and end up breaking that part as well As long as it all comes together at the end, thats all that matters

Nah, but i'm aware of the importance of getting all the right bits before you start - it was too cheap to pass up though Feel free to e-mither me at autohausdolby at hotmail dot co dot uk - I now need to start saving big time for the RJES kit I need and the missing bits. I'm going to ask the vendor when I speak to him later - his ebay name has 555 in it so I'm assuming he's a habitual Subaru owner If you want to have a giggle at my various misfortunes there's a thread about my van here: www.autohausdolby.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=105

Matt.... What happened to the Rover with 4 Barrel Holley Idea!! Pah! He saw sence If you want "that" burble from a v8 type application in a van, do the right thing and drop an audi 5 pot in there If you want a reliable flexible torquey compact engine, do what VW did and use a boxer, only use a good one

You can't get the Kennedy adaptor anywhere in the UK that I can find. Plus the EJ22 was cheap enough to make up for it

when we had the V8 the Bay Window with Kennedy kit it was the flywheel that I had quality issues with. It had about a bazilllion hairline cracks in it. To be fair to Kennedy though the previous owner had put a stock clutch in it which the 3.5 lunched in no short order, and I suspect the heat from that happening didn't help matters ;D

It's from a 91 and the engine is from a 90 - close enough or not?
He's just a guy who breaks them every now and again but maybe he can help.
