Can't help but think that most of those posted I'm glad never made production, ugly and ungainly. The exceptions are the o.p. BMW, that looks wonderful. Also the mk2 Golf/Jetta works well and the W109 300 SEL works well also. The others are either shooting brakes (not really estates) or just plain wrong!! ;D I was looking for an 80's Merc 190 estate but no joy so have an earlier 190 estate.....

Vaz 21032, in 1976 officialy 3 of them were made, and there is interesting story about the 4th. Originali car was designed to be 2103 estate useing face od 2103 and back from 2102. Engine was original 2103 1.5cc. Car had 2103 lux. interier and all 2103 chrome exterier detales around the arcs and doors. Funny story about 4th was that it was made illegally in Toljati factory, by group of AVTOVAZ working personel. One of them liked this prototipe very much so with some help of workmates from factory he build one for him self in 1979. Officialy it was 2102 on paper, but it had 2103 face, and already 2106 interior because production of 2103 was stopped at the time... That 4th 21032 is still alive...

This photo is chock full to the brim with WIN! The car itself, awesome.....the wheels, awsome.....the bodykit, awesome. We need to take a leaf out of this guys book and do more 'proud owner' shots, complete with accompanying proud 'other half', proud friends and even proud dog. 80's clothing optional but preferred I love this photo.

Wow that is fugly, looks like some sort of fish that's spent too long in radioactive waters.. What's the differnce between a shooting brake and an estate anyway..? the S class w126's are just awesome, might have to do one of them as a practice before i cut a Bentley up! Can't help but think that most of those posted I'm glad never made production, ugly and ungainly. The exceptions are the o.p. BMW, that looks wonderful. Also the mk2 Golf/Jetta works well and the W109 300 SEL works well also. What's the differnce between a shooting brake and an estate anyway..? Delusions of grandeur. I like the modern S Type on the first page, not seen that before. Everytime I see a new XJ I think it could do with a coachbuilt conversion.

'Shooting brake' is just the word for a 'estate that realy should have been' Or in other words the technical term for a one off estate conversion; especially if a sports car has been converted And where maybe practicallity wasn't the leading factor (p.e. Ferrari Daytona Shooting Brakes). Well, at least that's my definition of a shooting brake; just a technical term for a unique estate conversion Have another one. Peugeot 504 Riviera.... Oh why oh why didn't they build them like this??

E30 touring 2 door. Only 3 in existence. Two in museums and I believe the third is owned by a bloke on the e30 zone. Preparedto be corrected though. Used a mk1 golf rear hatch.
