Dom is that without having space for the people inside and just the driver  I think you forget the 600 was for the fat cats so it would stand to reason that the estate version is for the fat cat's missus with her shopping from Harvy Nick's or Harrods!

Well, I think an NSU Ro80 Estate could have been a go-er... (This is not my Photoshop but a Google search jobby!) If only eh...?! This would actually have been a very good idea - room for a couple of spare engines in the back . . . Does look the business though

What's the differnce between a shooting brake and an estate anyway..? My understanding is this: A shooting brake is designed to carry a couple of chaps and their dogs plus shotguns/rifles for a bit of hunting/sport. An estate is designed for said chaps to drive about the estate collecting orphaned lambs/bales of straw etc etc. The estate is usually larger than the brake. Just found this thread so commenting very late in the piece but here we go anyway. As above with the addition that a proper stationwagon does both jobs as it is possible to wind down the tailgate window while leaving the tailgate closed, then sit on the tailgate and shoot over the roof while your mate drives you around the farm. Neither should have carpet or upholstered panels in the back for obvious reasons.

There really ought to be a thread like this for ute/pickup conversions either factory built like Ford's Cortina and Sierra based P100 or one off custom jobs too.

Made a quick try. But I don´t think it works. Maybe I´m biased as I think the MGB GT is such a beauty, it doesn´t need a small brother. I think what this needs is a roof line like this..........
