This is on ebay but I will take it off for £375 for anyone on here. Previously sold for £460 on ebay but the guy couldn't arrange to collect it! I would prefer a quick sale (by weekend ideally)
This auction is for a Ford Focus Estate.
This car was owned by a family friend, who has upgraded now to a newer Focus estate. He has passed the car on to me to sell.
The car is the 1800 turbo diesel and runs very well indeed. It has done high miles at 195347, these have mainly been motorway miles in the time my friend owned it, as he travels around the UK for work. He owned the car since June 2005. He was second owner.
I would describe the car as tatty, but certainly not battered! The interior is surprisingly nice given the milage, the seats are not all ripped and it has been kept clean. There is obviously some wear but nothing major.
Externally the car has various dents and scrapes, but no massive dents. It has been used everyday for 5 years so it has obviously picked up damage here and there!
The tyres all have good thread, and spare is present.
Ford roof rack bars fitted.
I will try to list the bad points of the car as I see them, but please bear in mind this is a high milage car that I have only just been given, so I may miss a couple of things! I think this is all the obvious stuff though, and will probably make the car sound worse than it is!
Short MOT (06/04/2011) the car is taxed until end of May 2011 however.
Drivers sill has a hole at the rear, I am told this happened when the car had a flat tyre and my friend jacked it up, the jack slipped and has punched a hole, this has corroded around the hole a bit as you would imagine, the hole was not caused by rust, and the car seems to me to be surprisingly rust free for a older car.
The passenger side mirror glass has detached from the mirror, the glass has been taped up as a temp fix, this has been like this for over a year and was a advisory on the last MOT.
The bonnet catch is damaged, the part where you put the key in and turn it seems to be missing. You can open it easily with a screwdriver, it seems the lock mech is all there, just not key part!
The ignition barrel, or the key is quite worn. The key works fine unlocking the car, but in the ignition you have to wiggle it as you turn it. It has been like this for a while, and once you have the knack its easy to start, I managed to get the hang pretty much straight away.
There is a squealing belt on startup. This goes away when driving the car.
My friend tells me there is a noise and slight vibration coming from a front corner when cornering slowly. This sounds like a CV joint to me perhaps, but I have only driven the car on and off the drive so I can't confirm this.
General tatty bodywork, looks fine from a few metres back! But a bit tatty close up.
No radio, I do have a cd player from a later Focus available for sale, if it fits this I would sell for £40.
All those points probably make the car sound worse than it is, a day or two would fix most of the issues and leave you with what I believe would continue to be a reliable car, as it was for my friend.
It has a few good points too!
Some MOT and Tax so it can be driven away!
Interior is pretty clean and tidy.
Electric front windows, which work with no problems.
Central locking with works fine.
Some history, the first owner kept the book stamped to approx 100k, my friend has kept receipts for some work and it looks like all the MOTs are there, I know he has regularly had the oil etc changed, most recently about 3 months ago.
The Logbook and original owners handbook are present.
Viewing is fine of course, call me to arrange. 07947 299110
