MGB is the obvious choice. If you don't agree give it to me and I'll do it cause that is what I am planning for one of mine ;D

I reakon using the mx5 running gear in the RWD 323 would be brilliant. Give its enough power to go sideways...

Anything originally fitted with a BMC B series would swallow the engine whole with no problems. It'd probably go anywhere that normally houses an A series too. Or a Triumph four/six pot. Your main problem would be gearbox length. And if you wanted to chop something up to fit the rear suspension etc you'd certainly be in BIVA territory. www.britishv8.org/MG/SteveBowen.htmwww.britishv8.org/MG/EdTheobald.htm

I keep wondering if there's anything out there that would swallow the rear subframe whole. It really is compact and quite flat, surely some cars with live axles must have a pretty decent space under there to allow the axle movement? it must be able to be dropped into something without any chopping up of the original floor.

i was thinking moggy minor as well as i have been looking into a biva approved conversion where by using the mx5 chassis complete and grafting a moggy on top. a bit like the moggy on here with the nissan SX200 underpinnings.

I didn't think the MX5 spine counted as a chassis? I could be wrong mind, but if it did then they'd be no point getting an Exocet BIVAd?

If you were going to chuck it all in an mgb then there's not much point cutting up an mx5 as the mx was designed to be a modern mgb!

No its not the import, i had a few quotes on that and the insurance was laughable...... £2909...... this is one that my mate has let me have, thought i could use it for bits on my other one, but theres nothing i need so iv decided to use it as a project, just trying to decide on what to use
