i have nothing against vw just to many last year and most of the were golfs.

as has been said before this event started as a vag event , the organisers came up with the great idea of tagging a retro show onto it , retro cars gave it a good write up last year , all the RR'ers i saw there had a good time, imps,rapiers, honda,s toyota,s datsuns, rally, yanks, classics ,campers etc etc etc , some very nice golfs kharman ghia's, notchbacks, blah blah , these shows need backing , i cant wait , see you there

yes ,it started badly ,petered off in the middle and the least said about the end the better!!!

I'm really looking fwd to it, just about to put camera battery on charge, washed car today, will give it a quick spray wax tomorrow as it's dried all nasty lol

I spent hours today cleaning and doing jobs on the car, leaving the polish til last thing then the stupid Mer polish decided to swirl all over! Haven't got time to polish it again because I've got to drive 130 miles in the morning to get there! Grrrrr... last time I make a special effort!

I like the cheap spray on, wipe off stuff, can do the whole car in 5 min and looks good ;D

I haven't used this Mer for 8 years, I knew I should have sticked to the cheap turtle wax! I'll buy some Maguars tomorrow. What you taking tomorrow? mk2 fes?

Well, imo it was the worst show ive been to EVER!
i was expecting alot more VEEDUB boys, and they all looked the same, porka rims all round.
i went at 1pm , think i seen you weblefeck in the white fez? i had pea green cavalier?

Yeah it was mainly vag but it was advertised as that on the signs.
I went in my jazz to go hangout with some of the mk1 civic guys but they had all gone!

Nice to meet you today Christian. I'm not surprised you was p!ssed off today, every time you cleaned your car, it started to rain again! I'll double check the condition of those wheels tomorrow and take some pics for you.
Weblefeck I'm not gonna bother with expensive polish after seeing the results of your cheap spray polish! Your car and the firenza made my dented and stone-chipped Astra look like a scrapper! lol

It took me two hours to cook 2 burgers and a few sausages on a disposable BBQ. I've never had to BBQ in a raincoat before! Good to catch up with friends tho!  |

Yeah it wasnt as big as I thought it would be. I'm not a vw fan myself but I was expecting more of a turn out.... I took the caravan and stayed the night, we were opposite the mk1 civic guys, they stayed the night but were gone by about 11am?

Quite a few people got off early. I drove 2 1/2 hours to get there by 9 am and had to pay so I was determined to make a day of it!

Hey Spotted what I thought was a few Retro Rides cars myself. :-)
I was in the Mondeo Si Sandwiched between Weble and the Firenza. For me I had a nice and enjoyable time. I think that was to do with good company, Cheers Coggers, n Dan! and also a relaxed way of getting there and staying in posh accomodation. All in all a fresh experience for me even the WaG liked it. The vibe was nice too, pretty relaxed all the Midlanders(?) The only annoyance was the clowns totally addicted to bass, the Vibes coming out of that Lupo made me feel sick!
Top do might not be a yearly one but glad I went. Worth it.
