Due to having too many cars in the driveway and expecting another one to be delivered from the darkest depths of Surrey in the very near future, I'm obliged to submit for sale my Renault Laguna estate airport snotter.
It would make an ideal parts chaser.
It's an RXE model so is fairly close to the top of the range I think and comes with all sorts of toys.
Remote central locking, climate control, on board computer, half leather interior, CD multichanger in the boot etc, etc, you get the picture.
So what about it then?
Well, I've had it for about six months or so and while I did employ the services of the AA to get me home on two occassions, once was through no fault of it's own and the other was a minor and common issue with them that I believe was a recall but this one had slipped through the net. It's been fixed since though. Other than that it served me admirably through the terrible snow spell(s) we had over Christmas and New Year.
The bodywork's failry straight, it's been welded on one of the sills, the interior is in reasonable nick and most of the gadgets work. It has 138k ish on the odo' but it feels newer than that.
It's had a replacement gearbox at some point and it's fine although 3rd can be a bit cruchy when it's warm.
There is some history with it, but TBH I've never looked at it.
Bad bits. (A lot of silly little things really.)
-Exhaust has jumped off one of it's rubber bungs so is rattling around under the car and it's recently started blowing a teeny li'l bit. It's barely noticeable really.
-Heated rear window doesn't work, but I guarantee you that's a broken wire on the boot hatch that I've not got round to fixing yet.
-backlight on the climate control panel doesn't work, so you can't see how hot you've set it. (Never been a problem for me TBH. If I'm cold I press the red button and if I'm warm I press the blue one!) The climate contol works but I can't vouch for the A/C
-Recently the instrument panel/binnacle has gone to sleep more often than not when the car gets warm. It's obviously a loose wire/dry joint, but I'm not inclined to fix it under the circumstances.
-The battery's not in the greatest of shape but if it's used quite regularly I've never found this to be a problem.
It's a basically sound car and has been trundling me on the 50 odd mile round trip to work on a daily basis for the past few weeks and it hasn't let me down.
You can find me on the end of 07786987514 if you're interested.
