welcome fellow mk2 owner,Looks tidy and a rare colour too. It would look sweet with the chrome strip bumpers etc.

Cheers for the welcome guys, much appreciated! Plenty of potential yeah, looking forward to getting it all done. Thought the colour was a bit rare, not seen a great deal in this shade either?! Have thought about doin that to the bumpers, but all in good time! Got other things to sort first...like getting a s/steel exhaust fitted tomorrow! Nice. Think it still has the very original on cos it sounds awful! Job done.

Yep, slammage is on the agenda, prob some budget coilies, but not for a little while longer...! Gona get some new tyres on my 15" deep-dish wheels first and put them on to see what I've got left to play with! Might do chrome at some point, certainly on the bumpers, but a bit down the list at the mo! Cheers for looking!

Perfect, just needs a tap with the infamous RR stick now. ATS Cups are one of my favourite wheels ever, and those look just the ticket! Like the sublte tinting of the rear lights too - ideal

Welcome Jim, Now that really is a nice Golf. Indian red is a great (and rare) colour, so what if it's only a 1.3 and a 5 door? It looks to be in excellent condition which (IMO) is the most important thing. Its an excellent base and ripe for modding. Those new alloys, the s/s exhaust and tinted rear lights look the business - just needs the proverbial stick waving at it! Keep us posted with any progress mate.

Cheers for all the comments! Looking at gettin sum coilies soon, plus some more comfortable tyres on th wheels! Had them stretched on for when they were on my '85 Polo so they'd go under the arches, but gona get some wider ones with bit more profile to smooth the ride out! Won't be for a few weeks but I'll get some shots up soon as! Cheers again.

hello... Ive been browsing Google looking for a exhaust for my car and I come across your car... I was a bit shocked you have the same car as me same year, color ( terracotta) and ive done similar mods as you 16v lights, crystal crosshair lights black badges etc... except I got a two door and gti lower spoiler and different wheels.... I got it lowmilage as well... my granddad was the first owner from new when I started driving it only had 24k on the clock now it's got 45K. By creamy1 at 2011-07-05 I know it's sounds cheaky but where did you get your exhaust? is it GTI one thats been adapted or one specifically designed for the 1.3/1.6.? oh and also you got good taste

Hey bud! Awesome to see one like mine! Likin the front spoiler too! I dunno where about you are in the world, but the exhaust was custom made to suit the car by 'Longlife Exhausts' in South Glos. I'm not sure, but I think Longlife is a franchise around most of the country. It does cost from £270-£350 but once its on thats it for life of the car, and given ours are such low-milers, that will be a good long time! The cost is cheaper if you can take it into them within a certaiin window that suits them. Also depends on what tailpipe you decide to put on. They got standard ones like mine, or you can upgrade with somethin more fancy for extra cost. They can make it sound how you'd prefer too (that doesn't cost any extra) from slightly louder than factory, (which is what i went for and sounds really good!) all the way thru to 'Full Sport' which is LOUD! Personally not my thing, cos seen so many 1.1 Saxo's sounding like they do a gizillion mph, so didn't really wana join them! Hope this helps mate, and feel free to send me updates/pics etc.

Nice golf! Looks super tidy. I don't know if you're thinking of putting german style plates on it..... please don't.

hey thanks for that... I'm gonna look in to that and several other options for an exhaust . English plates made to look like German plates are illegal for the road I'm not really digging that look..... if i was going slightly illegal....I would rather take the front numberplate off and put the plate on dashboard and smooth the bumper holes.
