only a small update.. been keeping the peace around the house,DIYing!! anyway.. got the engine running a lot better after stripping and rebuilding the carb.. and binning the standard air filter box and a hundred and one vacuum pipes!! runs sweet as now so started on the front, striped down. welded in new metal were the corners were rotten.. skim off filler.. and then a quick coat of primer just to keep the rust at bay!!(and to make it look abit tidy parked on the drive ;D) also think I have found the color for it like this but thinking about some airbrush work on it, to brake up the flatness off it??!! but did come across couple off other, surfing the bay... just to add to the ides!!

Be wary. Lots of councils are cracking down on green laning and many lanes are shut. Some counties have closed pretty much everything. normally??!! if a council close a byway or public rights off way.. thay either.. :put up a small!! sign saying so..lamanted A4 headed letter fixed to a fence post.. and thats it!!! or thay will stick a bluming great big rock or something so theres no way your getting down there!!! but!! (and i know this is going to sound silly) there is a group off out doorers that don't like the idea off byways being used by motorized vehicles.. and have heard story's off them putting stuff across a track so you can walk! around it, but not drive round it.. OK for the bike laners.. but no good for the 4x4's.. but thay got around this by a lane having a wire tied between 2 trees!!! at chest hight!! think what that would do for some one on a bike!! motor or pedel!! best thing to do is get the most up to date OS land ranger(the orange ones) and look on there.. if its closed.. it want be show on there.. and even if it show that it is open.. the sign say closed(if it is) will soon stop you... have fun mate...I'm off now for a weekend laning in sunny Cornwall

Nice, having rollered my old 924 I can appreciate that! Also a very handy paint finish for touching in any new panels/scrapes etc. No more polishing for you then? Suppose you've seen the famous thread showing how you can get a thicker and arguably better finish with rollered paint if you take your time? no,i have'nt.. would'nt mind seeing it!!!

I'm tempted!! ;D

right bit more done today.. made up new front wheel arch and the front off the cill. had to make most off the arch from scratch.. most of it had rotted away!! skim off filler.. then found some rot by the seat belt mount. and lower step. so cut them out and welded in new.. and a coat off primer.. then dressed all the filler. just need a light skim to finish it off, but its going to rain tonight, so thought it best to prime it. and looks better for it already ;D
