Out of stock at heritage and classic vw , hoping someone has a new full rear panel available as I'll need one for my resto. For an 83 hardtop mk1, large rear lights.
Fire over a message if you have one tucked away, cheers.

Here it is in 1 piece, the boy likes this more than the saxo I got him last year.

Picked up this today for the boy, he spent ages reading up on the specs for various 2wd trophy trucks and this is the one he went with. We'll build it over the weekend

Mine and the kids tamiya tt02 club racers, we're not competitive by any standard but it is good fun.

If the blaupunkt at the bottom with the white buttons is available I'd love that for my mk1 golf 👍

Now MOT'd and on the road, its pretty fun to drive , lots of similarities with my mk1 golf with its road feel if thats makes sense. Wife's daily is playing up, she keeps nicking my daily so I've been running this around, boy still isn't interested so I'll keep it a month or so then it can go.

It'll be a hell of a lot cheaper than that, I'll likely tax it and use it first as I reckon a blast around the b roads with the boy in the passenger seat could convince him its worth hanging on to.

Would a vtr saxo float your boat? I picked it up for my lad as his first toy but hes not really interested, i may have jumped the gun slightly as he's a few years off being old enough to drive it.
There's a thread on readers rides if you fancy a nosey.

No more progress as I've been busy with work and if I'm honest, the boys initial enthusiasm is gone. I've spied a very neglected corrado locally that I fancy for myself so I'll hopefully get this saxo mot'd and back in 1 piece over Xmas and sold on to make space

L&L Models is the place to go for the shells then! I have on old TA03F Pro with a Opel Calibra DTM shell that I use on the road. Youngest want to build a rally car at Christmas this year, so one of those will be on the way. Mk2 Escorts are his favourite rally car. Plenty to choose from at L+L. We had these e30's from there as our first track shells, now in the shell graveyard in the loft . The buggy, beetle and pumpkin are now gone, ive picked up another tt02 for the youngest to join us and bought upgrades. Just the 4 tt02s now, at least its easier to keep a spares package.

Id bet the same would have happened with this car, I'm glad I didn't lose any bits of it on the short drive home as I'd have made a right mess of painting replacement bodykit bits

So, we've removed all the bodykit and underneath all that plastic is spot on. Metal clips glued to the bodykit with a plastic fixing into the car, clips had rusted breaking the glue which is why all the kit was loose, easy enough fix. We had a downpour here yesterday and the drivers front carpet is now soaked so that'll be next, likely blocked sunroof drain (as suggested above.)

Cheers all, the baja beetles look like a good compromise between a road car and a buggy. ive got a soft spot for the beetle, its the younger lads favourite too but not suitable for the class he will run in at the local car club so he'll need a tt02. I asked him what bodyshell he wants and his only stipulation is "old rally car", good lad.

So a few xmas's back i bought the older boy a tamiya tt02 lancia delta, since then its been given some upgrades to make it more competitive when he takes it to the local rc car club on their indoor track. As it looked fun I got myself one to go racing too. It gets addictive, there are a further 4 tamiyas here now 🙂. Shelf car on another tt02 chassis (the older lads favourite car) Mf-01x rally beetle. Pumpkin And a tt02 buggy chassis, brushless motor set up in this so its the most lively one out of the bunch. We took these 4 to a gravelly carpark today for a play and took the younger boy with us so he could have a go too. Guess who now wants his own race car.

He's enthusiastic, i gave him a haynes manual and just left him to it, removed the entire fog light to replace the bulb which was a bit overkill but I'm glad he's happy, much better than being sat infront of a screen.

Having a good look over it, this is whats needed. Drivers side sill rust repair/replacement, roof and bootlid paint, a pair of rear lights and replacement clips for the sill and arch plastics A little disheartened with the welding but to be expected with old French tin. The boy loves it (he really wants a fiat 126 so he'll fit in on here)
