1 year update, Golf is now at our new house & I have done nothing with it again.
GR is aproaching 2y/o & 3k miles lol. I did take my cousin for a blast around some B roads in Mexico & I'm not sure which one of us was more scared, no where near the limit of the car but near the limit of what I was comfortable with lol.
Mrs Peugeot Tepee thing was replaced a year ago with a CRV, probably one of the worst car's I have bought & will be getting tradded in. Thinking about selling the GR & CRV, replacing the main car with a VW ID.3 & the other with a Suzuki Swift Sport. Would have money left over to put towards an extension. Dunno, brain and heart arguing atm.

I know your on a budget, but I had ultralite RFP1 reps on my Cooper S and they were really nice quality - weighed about 50% less than the factory alloys too. Ask Nath as he fitted them lol. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185504686730

ULEZ is definitely affecting values across the country. We've got a regular customer who brings 3 or 4 broken modern vans from up north to us at a time, has us fix them then transports them to London and other places to sell. The price "difference" between up here and London pays a huge chunk of the repair bills, therefore he makes more money. He was complaining the other day that the northern prices are catching up with what similar vehicles are available for in the zones so it's getting less and less worth doing. Thats probably because the genius councils are bringing in "Clean Air Zones" which serve zero purpose other than generating income

Thats unreal, my cousins b/f had a Coupe when I was growing up it always seemed massive. The fact a Yaris Verso makes it look small is crazy.

I think the most important question's are: what era, what body type Coupe/Cab/Saloon/Hatch, and what country. E36 cab. Modern enough to be modern, old enough to be retro. Six cylinder BMW motors are lovely, will fit the four of you happily and will be excellent for cruising down to Le Mans in. Loads of spares backup, loads of potential for personalisation. Christ, I've almost talked myself into getting one. *buggers off to look at auto trader* I've seen a few nice 328i Auto cabs for sub £5k recently, quite tempting!

Morning, have seen a set of wheels for sale on Croober who used to ship worldwide. Contacted them about shipping and due to GDPR reulations, they have been unable to ship to Europe since the 1st of April.
Has anyone used a agent for shipping parts recently? It's nothing fancy, just a set of 16's with no tyres but they are ideal spec for my mk2.

You remind me of a time, pre-pandemic, I still owned that bloody Chrysler even, I was driving over to meet some mates for a "night out and crash at mine" type do with "the old gang" and I sat abot an hour in a layby half way there unable to drive on or even drive home. I went in the end. But sometimes theres a wall to get through just to do normal things... Did similar with a car meet that was on locally, drove past it about 4 times and went back home. It's not the thing thats the issue, its the thought of the thing. This is why I am on medication for it & it's been life changing tbh. Tried counciling, tried CBT, but they only worked with the depression side of things and did help for that but the anxiety was crippling. If someone has'nt experienced it then when they say something like "get a grip" they don't realise just how far off being helpful they are being.

the last few posts have just got me wondering as to why I hate crowds, especially shopping, I have always put it down to working shifts most of my life, and being able to go shopping without crowds, or is this autism working behind the scenes, that I prefer to shop mid week, Even at Autojumbles/boot fairs, I prefer to get in early possible, rummage, wait for the crowds to arrive, go and find somewhere quiet and reappear when the crowds are diminishing, I put shift work down to the cause of my anxiety, once it started it self perpetuates to the point you don't want to go anywhere. One shift patteren I was pretty much working on my own for 4 weeks (1hr overlap with other shift each day, our office was out of the way), Mrs was either at work or in bed when I was home. Christmas 2019 some mates I hadnt seen since the christmas before invited me out for a beer in on mad Friday. It took me 2hrs to get myself together enough to head out, it was a nightmare. Not sure what my point is with that, but yeah it's a thing.

Not ashamed to say I have also been dealing with A&D for quite a while now. People are always surprised to hear that I am on medication for it but at least it means I can function like a more normal person again.
Never be too proud to say you need help or your struggling!

My experience is that as a general rule most petrol, non turbo, non direct injection cars are pretty reliable. (But often somewhat dull to!) Trying to find something that meets that criteria is blooming hard! Even if you go direct injection. We are trying to find a modern (2015 or newer) 5dr hatchback for my Mrs and just about the only thing we can find (that she doesnt hate) is the Suzuki swift.

It will give you more power is the best explanation I can give lol.
If you want to run a sub then you wouldn't need an active one.

The mk5 has a decent speaker set up, should be 3 door speakers. Bass driver/mid bass/tweater, my money would be on the head unit being garbage. www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=112697.0Yes, you can take the outer door skin off the mk5. Just make sure you organise the bolts as they vary in length.
