Not much happening, but a few things are underway Needed a new tyre on my z1000, and the front master cylinder had to be stripped to stop it sticking My z1000 and sons 750, both tax and mot exempt, so a jolly out in the sun happened The frame on sons Zephyr was becoming rather crusty So he stripped and painted it And now its mostly back together, need to get some valve shims Ttfn Glenn

How about suspending it from a hook with bungy straps, with one to the side, preventing it winding up Ttfn Glenn

Been in the shed myself, emptying the forks, ready for new seals and bushes. While the wheel is off I thought I may as well do the seals and bearings as well. I had a look at the fork bottom holding Allen bolts. They are 5mm, a 5mm Allen key is a bit loose, 6mm will not go in. Reckon someone has tried and failed and slightly rounded them. I have new bolts ordered in case I have to drill. Try driving a star drive bit into the chewed screw head, have found that to be a successful method of getting damaged hex heads out Ttfn Glenn

Had to change the front tyre on my 1000J, had a real battle getting the beads broken, once separated the reason was obvious, previous owner had used some puncture goo, Had to use wire brush on the angry grinder to clean all the goo off the rim, then fitting the new tyre was easy Ttfn Glenn

The 550 is now away in its new/old home with son of a previous owner. Decided to get into my gpz750 project, carbs cleaned, rocker cover off and damn n blast, all the cam caps are in the wrong places Will pull the head off a spare engine and drop that on, then get it ready for mot. Son took his gpz750 for mot, pass, so now off to post office to get it changed to historic tax. My rex didn't fare so well, sticky brakes and advisory for a wheel bearing In other news, the bandit has decided it wants its carbs going through again, and i may be going to the Duck side, as have a chance of a cheap ST 944, will have to see what happens Ttfn Glenn

[/quote]Awesome!! I started riding at all on a KX60 and then 80... they felt so fast in those days. I do enjoy reading this thred, even though, on a good day i understand about 10% of it since my electronics knowledge is basic to say the least. A bit i think i understood was the swappable capacitor packs, might it be possible to include them in the main build, with a rotary switch to change settings. If this is not possible, how about a stand alone unit with some old school type latching push buttons? Ttfn Glenn

All the pictures in my previous post uploaded out of order, so once my head is ready for it, i will sort them out. To avoid any confusion, the huge warehouse full of bikes, is barnstormers in dundee, and yes they are for sale. My kawasaki obsession took a slight detour, after the jolly out to collect my 750 and my son getting his own 750, a 550 popped up on marketplace, only 1/2 mile away and a good price, so having the self control of a puppy in a tennis ball factory, i bought it, leaving son to manhandle it to the shed, about another 1/2 mile. Next day i get a message from the seller, he's been contacted by the son of a previous owner, wanting to get his dads old bike back!! This was a bit of a mind blowing moment for me, took a few hours to process. More to follow as it develops Ttfn Glenn
