Next step after taking everything I needed off the cab was to weigh it in and start on stripping mine down. I paid £400 for the cab with tax and test and it ran mint. I got £88 over the bridge for what was left and sold the alloys for £100 and still have a few other parts to sell, so the parts I need will be quite cheap by the time the spare bits have sold. I don't want it to owe me a fortune as it ain't going to be worth mega money when done, I just want a quickish car that I can leave wherever and I ain't to bothered about. Here is the bay at the moment. Shame to take it out really as it runs perfect. I am working outside so progress is going to be weather dependant but although the car is normally in the garage it would be tight to try and work on it in there and I don't want to risk damaging the other car and my bike in there. My other car is The bike is So as I stand now the 5 door is in the back garden on stands with the bonnet off ready for the engine to come out which will hopefully be tomorrow.

You say that but can I use my loom and remove the pats or get another ecu off a car without pats? I have removed the whole loom from the cab and I have the key so I thought I would have to use the pats and tape the key to the receiver?

Thought I would start a thread on my escort that I brought a few months back. It was all standard when I brought it with 65k on the clock. I have already got it looking how I wanted it with wheels and lowering a few ford extras like the sunroof spoiler rs steering wheel and front recaros. I had most parts lying around to make it look like this I only had to buy the seats. So now it looks like this. Pretty tidy car and never been welded After a month or so after getting to this stage I am bored and thinking of selling but instead I am going to have a go at a putting a zetec in it. I have purchased the donor car a 1994 130ps escort cab The only part of this concerning me is that this car has the pats immobilizer on it and wiring the whole thing up in my car will be interesting.

I have got a vv that came off a sub 30k 1.6 ghia. Works great which is rare. I thought it was at fault on my car but turned out to be something else but I left the nos webber convertion on. I also have an xr3 airbox. May not be useful but not sure if the carbs are the same with different jets? I have never had a 1.3.

I think the carbs were an dealer optional extra. Something along those lines.

I think it was storm that sold these years ago. They came with a straight arm and modded mech. Think they were £90 new, but a dated mod so you need to find someone wanting one.

The engine is zvh. You can tell by the dipstick being at the front in stead of at the rear. Looks good in pics and probably was nice back in the day but fear it would be a money pit down to needing lots of tlc to give it a fresh just built look in stead of a 10 years in storage look. Overpriced but not many about.

Is that the fairing from China? What is the quality and fit like? I was thinking of getting a vfr400 but the fairings are genrally rough on them and thought that China ones maybe the answer.

You are correct that I did put my 16I up for sale. But it is still in my garage for now might even do a few shows this year. Garage is a nice size as you say who cares about the house get the garage sorted first. Your bike looks to be the same model as mine which is a 1994. Yours looked good there was there much damage after the off? Your more ambitious than me, when I think about track days I think about paying the bills straight after. Here is a pic of mine

I am a Taxi driver so have drove a few high milers. My first company taxi a cavalier diesel was on 275,000miles when it was taken out of service and then used by the bosses mother for 2 years after. I then had a 2001 tddi mondeo which went to 295,000 with just 1 new clutch and flywheel and the diesel pump went but only serviceable items apart from that. If you drive with care without thrashing the car and service without fail a car will do high milage quite easily. I have my own taxi now a 2003 vectra 1.8 petol lpg which is on 167,000 at the min and drives as good as when I brought it on 95,000. Only big stuff to go so far was a clutch and a gearbox.

Any chance of a pic of the drivers side? Also one of the front pipe of the exhaust from underneath? I am trying to locate an exhaust and there are different front pipes from what I can see. Have you got the mk4 rear lights? Is there anything other than the battery holding that new tray in?

I am 95% sure there is 2 black series 1s with schwartz on the paint code. The Dianna car being 1 as seen above with the rope round it and 1 that surfaced about 2/3 years ago in the rs owners club which had been in storage for years and was brought by one of the registrars. Here is mine. Not everyones taste as its standard Here is one I owned a few years ago. Brought for about £750 off a terrible ebay add with about 30k on the clock and was mint.
