Seen this today in San Diego's FB Marketplace. For a moment i thought it was yours and wondered how it ended up over here, but closer inspection seems to suggest it is not - and the poor thing is in very bad shape

Ah, this brings back memories of my first gen AX 1.1. Lovely cars, their lack of weight makes them way faster than they have any right to be, with the VTS engine it is going to be a riot!
The white wheels give a hint of 106 Rallye (as the equivalent but alas detuned AX Sport had 3 lug wheels) and they pop out a lot - might want to consider hubcaps though if you are going for the sleeper look.
Did I mention how much I love this? Put the engine in already!

Looking forward to it, certainly is a car that deserves to be saved.

That is mental - and the sound of the GSX-R engine somehow suits it just fine

So all the electrics work? That is certainly something - and the Stewart Warner gauges look even better when lit up.

That this happened was inevitable, the blame is firmly FIRMLY on the driver of the car driving like a dick. 100%, no one else. People were stood in such and such a place, the other driver blah blah, NO! Dick Driver doing 60-70mph on that road in those conditions, 100% fault, end. That would be both of them then, the gt86 pulled out trying to do skids. It was the perfect storm though, people driving like dicks and people stood to close to it all. It's bound to have a knee jerk reaction as well, that is full of curse word ideas that do nothing good for the car scene Seemed to me like the gt86 driver couldn't see far enough on the road because of the crowd and tried to get out of the way as quickly as possible in case someone was coming (in a non dickish speed). May be wrong, but in the end unfortunately it doesn't matter - as you say a knee jerk reaction is all but guaranteed and I fear it will hit everything enthusiast related...

That looks nice.
I have a soft spot for these, and if I was still in the UK I'd certainly bid for it. Since I am not though... gl with the sale!

At least this time around you know what the problem is, instead of hunting for gremlins...

Ouch... It really doesn't like them gearboxes, does it...
At least you didn't have to tear out the dash before finding out it was still hungry.

From my (couple years old admittedly) research, the Rocketeer kit is more expensive than most, but the quality of the components is second to none, it comes with full instructions and great support and it is a full plug and play system (for right hand drive cars at least). From the cast sump that looks better than most OEM parts, to the carbon intakes, and everything in between - they even include all bolts in separate little numbered bags like you are building an IKEA cabinet
