whilst body was getting prepped for paint I was getting fed up trying to finding a roof rack, I'm no fabricator but I had just moved into a house that came with a shed and a mig welder, so why not try and make my own. this is what i was shooting for so i bought a load of 22mm 1.5mm wall stainless tube. First job, bend the bars that go over the roof. pair of aces stands and last nights dinner was more then adequate. Next job, bend to form the rails that go front to rear. first attempt did not go well. I ended up renting a conduite bender, Bit of youtube and i discovered even an muggle like me can make pipe joins with basic tools. I found an old tin that was a perfect go-no-go gauge. The welds look like a chicken with hemorroides had visited but they withstood the hammer and 'jump and and down on it' test

Glad to see so many T25 fans out there. bjornagn: I want to give he amazon a clean look. Ditch the over riders, PV wheels trims and caps, White walls, roof rack and lower it slightly. Manly as people though I had bought a hearse! I'll lower it abit. I'm sure astronaut will agree the roads around here are hardly bulavard smooth. whats your plans for the P1800? Here it as found after decades in storage I took some Pics of it when i got it home. Was in two minds wether to leave it as a Rat or do it up. after a couple of weeks, I caved in and shipped it of for body work and paint job. I admire how people can do there own body work, I don't have the experience and don't think i could do the car justice. so this is how it looked after strip down. So: Both wings where rusty but repairable, Both inner wings needed replacing Front door skins Needed replacing A Post needed repair Rear quaters needed repair Rear inner quarters where F**Ked and needed fabricating

Sup fools, Been having a great time reading all of you posts, ( Mr xb0ll0x your a one of a kind, a week of reading there!!) Hoping to make the most of the talented minds in here, So i though i should introduce you all to the current heard along with my disregard for financial logic and good practice. I'm bait of a novice so hear goes. after swanning around in an 04 Mercedes c180 compressor, Mrs space goat said 'your getting boring, you need another banger' she spacificly asked for a daddy Malcom Meet Malcolm my first ride So after some searching I found this Came from a really nice family near Aberystwyth, all the kids had moved out and the chief had finished rebuilding his flower mill. after asking "whats wrong with the van, the kind miller would name an item then nock some money off the asking price". after the easiest negotiation of my life we settled for £1000. The engine was more of a steam/smoke generator, sadly I wasn't equipped to perform an engine swap at the time so this was shipped off to a local VW "specialist" (F00k3n Crooks!!!!!!!!!!!! see 1 star review ) once i got it back first mission, bumpers and wheels Mrs space goat and I thought we should do some vanning, in in typical VW style this is how that went couple of weeks before a road trip around the coast of Ireland 2500 on the coast road and in a week, the van didn't let us down. What a beautiful country day before a trip around the coast of Scotland other then that, its been an awesome bus, have done over 30,000 miles in the past 18 months, and have properly enjoyed every one of them! Plenty more drama here... will update soon
