The Lancia Stratos is my all time greatest - Did it really get designed/created in 1975 or is the plate incorrect? It's a '74 car, production started in 1973. Fun (anorak) fact, it's the same car that was used to advertise the Ferrari 430 based one off. That never went ahead as Ferrari wouldn't sell them the cars.

That (real) Stratos came out of our workshop. Colour change (back to its original livery), fiber glass repair etc... and now the owner uses it all the time. Last I heard, he'd just got back from a jaunt to Italy to meet the first driver.
I think that Mustang is one of ours as well (last picture).

I would imagine that in alot of cases no one really knows each other and are a little uncomfortable sharing costs/tool access with others.
I WOULD be interested in sharing, but would need to meet with others prior to committing to see the sort of person they are (as, let's be honest, personalities can clash) and what their expectations were.
PS. The unit I mentioned earlier went a day or so after I last posted, but am still looking.

It seems there are a few of us looking for the same sort of thing and I'd be looking at 3 cars and maybe a couple of bikes... Theres a place not far from my workshop that could be interesting, but I can't go ahead (cost wise) on my own.

I see the pink pig most evenings when walking my dog. I'm also looking for a place to play (and store)for a couple of my projects. Nothing I've seen fits my needs though...

Owner dies/in prison/travelling the world/any on reason. Family etc is sick of the sight of the "old car" so thinking no one would want it send it in for scrap.

They were rare new. Panels aren't as bad as they used to be. Everything Jetta specific (ie front wings) used to be non existant... VWH now sells them (quality will be a little questionable, if my customers mk2 Golf is anything to go by though). Most of what you need are the same as the golf though. So no need to panic!

I am familiar with it, yes. Recognised the filler wing. Used to see it most days either parked up or mooching about. Sounded mechanically ok but there is a hell of alot of dodgy bodywork on her. Thought about speaking to the owner about taking it on as a project (as I'd always wanted one) but I have to many as it is.
Good luck, I'm sure that you'll get there.

Ooo, I'm fairly sure that Rav4 is one of the painter's at my workshop's old car! So knowing him, never been above 30 let alone raced or rallied! Also don't use Pearsons, I had the misfortune to work for them... Truely aborrent "humans".

Sell me your Merc Coupe then... Then you can scratch it Any further Updates Adam? Love your threads. Ah thank you very much, even though I don't get much done in them haha Not a huge amount to update on the 7 as its been very well behaved, its on commuting duties this week after the Saab did last week. I've got my replacement angel eyes to fit maybe tonight so I can have my full set. I've been plauged with bulb failure warnings of late for the tail lights, brake lights and numberplate lights despite them all working fine.. two of those I could put down to the cheap replacement tailights but I'll need to see what I can do to correct as its a bit annoying haha Also I've been contemplating my future with the car, realistically I don't need it and the Saab, so one of them (at least) will likely have to go. Its proving to be a difficult choice to make! It may or not be the same issue as the E34. If you disconect the headlight adjustment motor's all the other errors go away. 5 minutes to fix!

No mention of the E34 540i? Bought mine (a touring) 18 months ago. I'd always wanted one, with our first born on the way and a 60kg dog it made sence. Love the fact it's a proper wolf in sheeps clothing, with only the badges and very discreet chin spoiler the give aways. Just shy of 300bhp and a 4l V8, you would have had to go a long way to get quicker in 1995. Not quite fastest from the forecourt though ;-) [imgsrc="http://i.imgur.com/2XKUdNA.jpg"] Should have defined it better. Fastest from a RHD forecourt, as we never got the M5 touring. But with only 227 540i made and approximately 30 left in the UK - properly rare. I know that some Alpinas are quicker, but I can't count them in my head as they're a sanctioned tuning house and not BMW.

Driven alot of Boxsters over the year's and they ARE brilliant car's to drive. But they ARE hairdressers car's. It's unfortunate that they have an image problem and a lot of "couldn't afford a 911 eh?" Donut statements. (Especially as I prefer the handling to the 996). But that's the world we live in...
