Weekend Update On saturday I practised welding for the first time on some old scrap metal. Enjoyed it very much, although wasn't much good at it! Going to spend the next fortnight or so practising. Today I started by getting the battery tray off. As expected, significant rot underneath. Next, I used this blade attachment for the oscillator to get the underseal off the inner wing and in the arch. Cannot recommend this thing enough, ate through the stuff, any residue left was tidied up with a wire brush. Last thing I did today was cut out the rot from the battery tray area ready to shape a new piece of sheet metal (on order) and weld it in. Would like to complete this within the next fortnight. That's all for this weekend. Resume working on it during the week. This quarantine is making me more productive than i've ever been!

Been a while since I've updated this. Unfortunately things have changed a bit since the last update. In September of last year I got into a slight knock. At first I thought i'd got off lucky and could just put a new wing and indicator in and it would be fixed. Due to the weather at the time, i put a cover over it and waited until the weather was better to take a look at it and repair it. In the meantime I bought this as a new daily driver, i have to say I am very impressed with it, especially for the price I paid. Anyway, about a week ago I started working on the Fiesta again. With this whole Coronavirus isolation I have plenty of time to work on it. Stripping down the front end it soon became apparent that it was going to be a lot more work than I had thought at first. At some point in its lifetime it has been bodged awfully, and I discovered the entire front end was pretty much held together with filler, that had created a moisture trap and rotted itself from the inside out. Honestly speaking I don't think it should have had an MOT for the last 2 years at least. Nevertheless, I started to strip it down. Here's a few photos of what I found. The photos were taken after I'd sanded down the inner wings and front crossmember. There was filler all on the inner wings, around the RHS shock turret, and the battery tray had rotted through completely. The boot floor was the same story, Filler in both corners and there is now holes i can get my hand through. I didn't get any photos unfortunately. From a quick look I think the sills will need work and definitely the rear arches. After assessing the work I've decided to use the isolation period to try and get as much done on it as possible. I'd like to learn all the skills myself, we have a welder so I'm going to be practising welding over the coming weeks. While I'm doing it up I'll tidy up the underside, fit my lowering kit, wings and front panel (all which I have got already). I'll tidy the rear axle up and all the suspension arms, calipers, etc. Do a proper good job of it. In a perfect world I'd like to get it done by the end of the year, but will have to see how it goes! Oh, and I also found out that it wasn't an original milage car, and it had been round the clock once already, meaning it's now done about 183k. All fun and games! But I am determined to get this car back to a high standard

Not every day you see a Jaguar xj220 Let alone on bbs wheels (although I prefer oem wheels) ... Even less in a retail park car park on a rainy day in stoke ... Another guy turned up and asked if it was mine! That is sensational.

Little 3-wheeler Pick-Up in someone's (large) front garden. Think it's a "Jiffy"? Seems to have quite a bit of moss on it. That's been there as long as I can remember!

You didn't pull this out of the field yesterday did you? I know someone certainly did. I drove past it regularly with no clue it was there. Nope, did notice it was up for sale now though

Spotted this little beauty over the weekend. Should've left a note on it's windscreen, I've fancied one of these since they were new! WOW! How Many Left says there's only 10 of that spec on the road, and only 25 in total of all the specs!

Love the interior mood lights. Hate the rear lights, (but love the look) as nobody will know your intentions ahead of them on the road. However, very happy to withdraw comment if you show the lights in use and they can still be seen clearly in daylight. That said..... wish I could help with this build. According to the OP they don't seem to plan on driving it anywhere. Correct, it won’t be driven, however even during the day there is still plenty of light let through

We had a few hours on it yesterday. Progress is happening but slowly! The first thing we did was convert it to a single wiper as the old mechanism was bulky and ugly. This looks much cleaner. We had a Sparco tow strap laying around so we badly attached it to get a feel for what it would look like. In the future it'll be attached properly. Most of the things we did yesterday were around the back of the car. But before that, some interior stuff. We used my friend's old amusing gear stick instead of the old rubber one (which was completely perished). It doesnt fit right at the moment so an adaptor screw is on the way (only £1 and free postage, bargain!). Also got a couple air fresheners, Dancing Hula Girl and Little Joe. On to the more interesting stuff. We found these wall lamps in a re-use shop for £3! We knew we had to get them for that price. Here's a mockup of where they'll be fitted. On to the back of the car, where a can of black spray paint from Poundland allowed us to tint the lights... The rear wiper was also removed, badges removed, some stickers added (although some might not stay). And the tailgate started to be rubbed down as this is going to become a rat look rusted panel which should contrast well with the idea we have for the rest of the body. The next jobs to do are to remove the tow bar, finish removing paint from the tailgate, and get some wood and carpet so we can start the interior build.

Do you have or does Google images have any photos of the look you are going for? Imagine this, but as a car interior! Couldn't find any photos of actual cars done this way

Great idea to keep you busy and very entertained. A flat screen TV might take a little less room. Cheers Thank you mate! We opted for the CRT TV as it fits in better with the 'your nans living room' theme! Plus it gives a chance to build a good looking TV unit.
