Thought I'd start up a thread for the rebuild of my dimma 205 cti. Dimma UK only built 8 of the cti's and there's only about 3 others left now and they don't get used much. I bought this in August 2014 it a was in a right state and has needed a lot of small patches all the way around it.
Its taken a long time to get it to paint 2 months after buying it I broke my wrist then it took me a while to get back into work g on it and it was January by the time I started working on it again and had it ready for paint by June but then got let down by the person who was meant to paint it and had to find someone else to paint it.
Here it is as I picked it up, it came with loads and loads of parts so I had to rent a van to fit it all in, it was also 5 hours away and had no suspension or hubs fitted so I had to take tools and parts to get it moving.
^ once home with the rest of my 205s!
Initially it didn't look to bad but the engine was seized, the side skirts had been cut off to repair rot on the sills and one section of sill had been cut out, the sills on a cti are complete different shape to the hard tops and you can't get them new I eventually ended up buying a complete running but rotten cti to use for the sill and I will end up using the engine and various other parts.
These are just a few of the areas that needed welding I don't seem to have many decent photos.
Once the welding was done I treated all of the floor pans on the inside and painted them with epoxy mastic, I also painted the underside with epoxy mastic then stonechipped it all after grinding off all the damaged factory under seal.
After this I stripped everything off the shell that I could to leave it as a bare rolling shell and it finally went for paint on the 21st of August.
