Not really retro but hopefully you'll indulge me. Our Volvo S40 failed its MoT on Friday due to the airbag light being on. Previously it got turned off by a guy with the Volvo kit to do it who I've been unable to contact. My MoT guy tried with his generic kit but failed. Any suggestions for places to take it in Manchester that might be able to sort it out gratefully received. What part of manchester are you in?

Had this happen back in the day with my sd1 vitesse, exhaust was the only mod sounded great & would set the odd car alarm off.
Had young lads in there nova's, xr3's & Renault 19 chamades to name a few all getting giddy revving up at the lights with the odd one asking is it fast. My replies on most occasions were.. 1,It's a 3.5 ltr v8 what do you think.
2, it's listed in the back of max power of course it's fast
3, give it a few blips on the go pedal drown out there peco big bores. Then set off normally
On the other side of the coin I admit to going for it a few times when I've had the odd business man in his exec car bm,merc looking down at me rolling forward to try & get that little bit further forward ready for take off, thinking he has it all & I've just got a lexus gs300 with a set of alloys on not knowing it's a toyota aristo with a 3ltr twin turbo with a few mods. There face has a different expression when they finally catch up to me at the next lights at which point they seem to try & set off 10 secs after the lights have been on green instead of trying to go on amber.

I'm not sure what engine they have but there are two Aristo's with that bodykit driving around at southern finland. I'll try to get them on camera when the snow melts and they come out from the garage again We have quite a few aristo owners in Finland some pushing big power & manual converted Like this so much Chris ^ So much WANT! Really have a thing for 90s Japanese stuff right now. Been considering satisfying it with something like one of these: Mitsu FTO: (my bro has one, but won't let me drive it ) -- Toyota Mister 2: Love the idea of a T-top too right now! (Or a Mitsu 3000GT/MX5/Supra/300zx) Had not heard of the Cosmo or Aristo before, they both look really nice too. Not many have heard of the toyota aristo Basically a lexus gs300 with a twin turbo engine, They also did a mk1 zi-four version with a 4ltr v8 4wd

I'm in & around chorlton everyday delivering with work I don't own a retro but always liked them.I think growing up in the 80's as a kid trying to spot the new models out & the new reg cars on the 1st of August, The last one I had was a B reg 84 sd1 vitesse in 99, & have been into japanese imports for 10+ yrs & have been looking at classic J models for yrs mainly toyotas but anything that catches my eye & is interesting enough. One day I may bite the bullet and go for one. Something like this.... pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=191520709335&alt=web

I had a load of old mags back as far as 1990. & the years following with copies of performance vw. Max power. Classic car. Even old Ford dealer stuff containing there full range of cars, granadas, capri lasers, To name a few including the old black & white auto traders when you had to look at every page before they organised it.. I finally gave in to pressure from the chic & put them in a skip when having a major clearout... Looks like she will be getting an earful once I show her there's still people after the old stuff & it's not all sh#te.
Think I need to check if I hid a few somewhere.

Spotted a nice white Golf mk2 in Gorton, Manchester. Naturally i had to park my Escort Mk3 by it. Local to me.. I will look out for you now I know what your driving about in.. I'm on the road most of the day & spot loads of retros but for some reason have difficulties posting them up... Examples... Burnage. red & yellow b or c reg transit. In daily use. Chorlton minimum 3 datsun 100a on driveway.not moved for yrs

For ford's Ghia badge stuck on passenger side dash. Oakley sticker on rear screen. Headlight cover making them look round. Like this.... www.rsownersclub.com/rsocbb/showthread.php?t=100720&page=2Coloured ford badges to match the car colour. Centre console with the cassette tape storage (think they had 4 grey release buttons) I saw the odd mk3 escort with the rear spot light on o/s like the mk2's used to have..

With names of Silvia Gloria and Laurel You'd probably imagine these to be patrons of the local Bingo hall... Don't forget the couple who organise trips out for the above Serena & cedric ?

It could be worth a few quid to mkiv supra owners who have the later model aero-top, possibly even with a T4 turbo fitted.

I've done this for the last 3 yrs when Ive sorn my aristo for the winter months. There's always plenty about on ebay, auto trader. You can jump in right at the death with using the (ending soonest) If there's a trader advertising a car for around 500-600 quid check his other items for more bargains he hasn't advertised

Was it the GTO you looked at? Out of curiosity how would you describe the condition if it was? It was only a passing glance it was tucked away in the corner only offside & rear on show it hadn't been prepped, Still had stickers on window, unwashed & I was chasing my little lad around stopping him from touching anything.
