Can't upload images on my phone but it's on the other carina II thread, the red 25th anniversary model. Only bit of rust is a little bit on a rear arch apart from that NO rust

Up for sale is my 1984 Carlton 2.0 manual Mk1 facelift. Showing 42000miles Mot till december The car drives well, no knocks or bangs, very comfortable cruiser. Bodywork average and interior in good condition. Recent work includes a rebuilt weber carb with a manual choke, a new starter motor, ht leads, dizzy cap, rotor, exhaust looks to be quite new but don't know when it was fitted. Everything works as it should, original stereo, fuel gauge, temp gauge, voltmeter and oil pressure gauge. Even the factory fitted boot 'popper' works! Only bad points are a dent in the rear panel and a slight hesitation pulling away when the choke is in. The car is ready to drive away any distance, May swap for another retro

Really like this. Did they ever do a warmer version of these saloons as all of them seem to be 1L or 1.3L at best? 1.3 is the max, don't think the 75bhp GT even made it into the saloon. Plenty of conversion options, G40, 1.4 16v, 1.4 8v, was a coupe on Ebay with a 1.6 8v conversion. Club polo has plenty of info for engine swaps. I had a saloon with the 1.4 abd from a mk3 golf with multipoint injection and a high lift cam. It went ok but unless your fitting. G40 or similar there not really any point IMO and that includes owning a gt hatch

I know it's a bit off topic but these are extremely comfortable cars and go well with a Weber attached.

Heres mine, I took a couple of coils out the back as there was a bit of rake with the tired fronts, these have a panhard rod which ive never seen before, one spring is different from the other, is this the usual?

Thought i might give you a little info on some things i missed out on, When i got the car there was a massive hole in the rear exhaust coupled with a really high idle wasnt nice sitting in traffic. Fixed the idle and replaced the backbox, then the middle section, then the front section! The wipers were all wonky, had to bend one arm straight and adjust their rest position, i couldnt find wipers that would fit, they're not hook type ones. If the car has sat for a while the idle might end up being high when warm, there is a lever for the autochoke that sticks, its on the pas. side of the carb, move it and the idle will return to normal Hope this helps

After fitting a wheel to my primera I decide to spin the wheels..... with my middle finger still IN the spokes, only noticed when the wheel smashed my finger between it and the brake caliper. I was wearing gloves and didn't want to take them off as it felt like I'd done serious damage, had to go to hospital to relieve the blood pressure under my nail.
Another was I had an '84 accord with central locking (you can guess where this is going), left key in the ignition, shut the door and 'clunk' it locked, ok I'll have to get home and get the spare , then realise it's also in the car... so in the rear quarter window went

As per the title really, got a set of 14inch wellers close to me for sale, originally from a mk2 escort and currently on a jago jeep. Will they fit my 305 saloon? Ive got 405 brakes up front which might get in the way, both cars were 4x108 not sure of centre bore or offset though Thanks

Cheap tools from halfords are more use in the chocolate tools thread! Advanced/professional stuff is decent though.
